Up for sale is my 1964 Lincoln Continental. Rare to find one in this working order these days. Classic luxury vehicle. She has been a great car over the last couple years that I have owned her, nd draws attention everywhere you drive her. The engine is original 430ci MEL, nd runs good. Some minor oilseepage, ut rarely leaves a drop on the ground, nd I have never had to add any oil between changes. Has air conditioning, nd still blows cool (still runs off of r-12) . Even has factory cruise control. I replaced the original points distributer internals with a pertronix electric ignition system, ew coil, park plugs and wires. Retains that factory look without the hassle of a points distributor (still have original parts for points distributor). Odometer isstuck at 40,000, ndwas like that whenI purchased the car. I drive her less then 1000 miles a year and she has been babied. I also have almost all records of all the modifications and repairs that have been done to this car dating back to the late 1970's ( a folder over an inch thick).
The car has been bagged with a nice 8 valve bag system, - 480 pumps, nd a 5 gallon tank. There is also an aftermarket stereo system that was installed without damaging any of the original interior. It consists of 2 -6x9's, -5x7's, nd 2 -12" kicker solobarics in the trunk all powered by 2 -1000w amplifiers. The trunk has also been redone to look factory with the subs recessed into the floor. Very impressive sound. Over $6000 in addons alone. The factory radio still works too, nd plays through the center speaker in the dash. It would be very easy to convert this car back to her original state with very little effort.
The body is in great shape, nd there is no signs of cancer ( California car ). Has some minor scratches and chips in the paint (which is single stage, nd somewhat faded) as well as a few minor dents and dings. The chrome and stainless also are in good shape. Not perfect, nd would require polishing, nd some possible rechroming to get to show quality, ut she shines very nicely. There is some small chips with surface rust, ut no cancer that I can see. All the glass is ingood condition except for the windshield which is cracked and would need to be replaced. Also all the weather stripping is original and needs replacing eventually.
The interior is original, nd has custom seat covers (wich werearound $1000 new) that are covering the original seats. The headliner has a very small ( 1/2" ) tear, nd other then that is perfect for being original. The dash is flawless. No cracks, nd all the instruments work (including the clock which was sent in for repair and I have receipts for too). All power windows work, nd all window switches work except for the rear passenger switch which can be controlled by the drivers master control. The power seat is in great working order too!
I had the whole front end gone through last year, nd replaced ball joints, ontrol arm bushings, nd anything else that was out of spec. It was also alignedand drives very straight. The car has drum brakes all the way around, ut still stops pretty good considering the size of the car. Every now and then there is a slight pull when braking, ut it might just need adjustment or new brake shoes. Just installed 2 new tires up front, nd moved the best 2 to the rear (about 80% on those) Also had new exhaust ran from the motor back, o she purrs like a kitten.
This was the car of my dreams, nd I hate to see her go. I knowi'm, robably leaving some things out, ndI can provide any info or more picture upon request. Please feel free to email any questions or a phone number and I can contact you if you would like to discuss the car further. The title is clear, nd she is ready to go to the highest bidder. Happy Bidding!!!
