1968 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL 2 DOOR COUPE!
This is a rare car to find. A true survivor car! Only 66,000 miles also! Have original owners manual and spare also.
All original paint, ody, ngine and interior. (even original owners name is still on door badge)
Only 9415 coupes' were produced in 1968. Less than 4000 were produced with the (early production) 462 engine. After 48 years, here are not that many still around, br>and even few that are all original and low miles.
General Description
This Continental was purchased by original owner in 1968 (he loved the car)
He passed away in 1984 and the car was put in a barn in Idaho for the past 20 years. 2 years ago the car
was transported to Reno Nevada where is was stored outside. The white vinyl top did start to crack due to this change in climate.
The car does start, ut idles rough due to the carb. needing work and fuel system may need to be flushed. Because it has been sitting for so long, ould
recommend changing all fluids prior to a drive. The brake system needs to be bleed also. Has aluminum radiator.
Continental would make a great project car or make into a hot rod with wheels and tires ect...
There is minimal rust, n the body and chassis, ecause it was stored inside and on the west its entire life..
INTERIOR
The interior is in great condition for its year and age. All original blue leather seats. Door panels are in great condition. Dash has a crack down the middle.
All glass in good condition. Has A/C, ruise, track, ll options for the year. Needs a good cleaning.
EXTERIOR
The exterior of the car is in very good condition for being 48 years old. The paint is original. The top needs to be replaced.
There is some minor rust that is to be expected from a survivor. The chrome and bumpers are in great shape.
The trunk is in good working order, eeds a carpet kit installed. The jack and spare are original.
Passenger side there is a 2" scratch down the passenger door and continues back towards the truck, rob. from a parking mishap.
Overall the body is straight and would look great with new paint.
ENGINE
Early production, 62 V8 engine, 40 HP runs, #s matching) but needs carb. work. Engine never taken out of car or rebuilt.
Would recommend buyer change all fluids and tune up the engine prior to driving.
SUMMARY
This 2 door coupe Continental was produced in low numbers, hen in 1969 the Mark IV was introduced. There are many
4 door Lincoln Continentals around, ew 2 doors. If you are looking for a survivor, riginal car, hat few people have, ts only original once!
This would make a great platform for a restoration or hot rod project.
