Description

Up for sale is my 1993.5 Lotus Esprit. It pains me to sell this but I have raced up 12 points on my license in this car and can no longer insure it (hard to drive slow in this) I'm offering it in auction with no reserve. I have seen 2 1993.5 cars sell this year. One at 29k and the other at 26k. I feel what I'm asking for mine is well within reason.
This is a half year model was the last of the SE cars with a special rear wing, Revolution wheels, and s4s interior. After doing some research I have found that only 27 of these exist in the US
When I purchased the car it had been siting a long time. Say 10+ years. I got it off an elderly woman who hung onto it after her husbands passing. Due to the long storage I knew it would need some love. Once I got it home I ran through almost every mechanical part on the car. Here is a list of things I have replaced in the last year
Timing beltWater pumpThermostatNew hosesAll pulleys for timing beltSerpentine beltsHead gasketAll valves were replaced and head was checkedFuel tanks were removed and cleanedNew fuel pumpSpark plugsExhaust manifold gasketElectric chargecooler fittedMap sensorTps sensorBrakes and rotors all aroundStraight pipe exhaust fittedRfl bovBatterySlave cylinderClutch lineClutch master cylinderVacuum pumpBoth headlight motorsRemoved the radiator, cleaned and flushed itRadioSpeakersHeadlight switchI'm sure I'm missing others. The car has been very reliable to me for what it is. These things do require some upkeep but it's nothing terrible.
The paint and interior were not in the best of shape when I purchased the car. Interior has been cleaned and aome intense buffing on the paint. I'd say the paint is the weakest point of the car. After a wash there are noticeable clear coat fades and scratches in direct sunlight within 5 or 6 feet of the car dependant on the sun angle. In the shade or after a wax it looks presentable. I'd give it a 6.5 or 7 out of 10 to be honest. The car still turns heads and is very clean looking, but has its minor flaws once up close.
It runs great though. I though I was going to be disappointed by the 285hp rating but paired with a 2500lb body this thing flys. By far the most fun car I have ever owned. Shifts nicely and never gets hot in the Ohio heat. Frequently 90 in the summer here. I have driven the car almost daily the past few weeks and it made a trip perfectly fine from Columbus Ohio to Knoxville to run the tail of the dragon. I drove it hard there and returned with no problem.
