This car is an early '88 (24th) that has a factory rear wing. The car has 42,200 miles. I purchased this car earlier this year as a non-runner. I had a Lotus Expert get it road worthy. This included tune up work, ignition, and brake work. I have put about 1,200 miles on it so far. The car has been reliable, but will need attention in certain areas. None of these things have prevented me from driving it, so you can fix the issueswhile you drive it. The paint is mostly original, with the exception of the front bumper cover.The carhas a nice gloss, but does have imperfections. There are gelcoat cracks on both fenders and one on the rear hatch. The front bumper has chips and fatigue on it. The interior also has some wear such as shrinkage of the leather on the dash and A-pillars. The driver seat has wear but no tears in the leather. The sunroof portion of the headliner has been replaced, the rest of the headliner is starting to sag in spots.The engine accelerates smoothly and when the boost kicks in, its fast. The catalyst has been removed previous to my ownership.The mixture is a tad rich. The trans shifts smoothly through all the gears and they are easy to find. There is no clutch chatter. One thing to note is that the ring and pinion gears are noisy, it is possible they can be shimmed to quiet them down. The steering is responsive and tight. Brakes are in good condition, the rubber lines were replaced earlier this year along with the rear pads. It does havea few electrical faults. The power mirrors are not currently working, nor is the driver window. It has an aftermarketCD player that is in working condition. The taillights, headlights, turn signals work. The timing belt from a visual inspection appears in good condition, however, I do not have previous service records available. The tires arePirelli P 600and have plenty of tread life with no abnormal wear.Overall, this car looks respectable, is reliable, does not overheat, and is easy to drive.
