Description

1967 Lotus Elan S3/SE DHC *** See additional pictures on my hobby website http://www. taylormadeclassiccars. com/67elanslides. html 1967 Lotus Elan S3/SE DHC (drop head coupe) “type 45” very complete running project with 98K miles on odometer. Motor runs. has twin Weber carbs. Interesting 2-blade fan. large wide radiator. 4 into 1 headers. front clear marker lights. has top irons only (no top. no rear deck cover). Colin Chapman signature steering wheel. has a “replacement” water temp gauge. Hood pins were used instead of under dash bonnet release. Chassis has surface rust. but appears solid with no structural integrity concerns. roll bar is “bolted on” not welded. so it can be removed if desired. Has “safety” knock off hubs and rare stainless trim “beauty” rings. Comes with clear open title and original Lotus factory workshop manual. Has original AM radio with rear speaker and rear antenna. Pictures are taken with car wet to show vehicle lines. shapes and potential. Red paint is dull and is a repaint of 25 or 30 years ago. Original color is white. One owner history back to 1988. Appears to have old fender lip repair (passenger front). Gas tank has rust holes so it will need repair or replacement. Comes with spare. jack and ratchet. Very nice rear lights. Interior has cracking veneer on original dash. and cracking on dash pad and center console. Car needs total restoration (chassis. interior. exterior. etc. ). All hydraulics need rebuilding. car rolls freely and shifts into gears to hold car in place. Engine does run with no funny knocks. bangs or other strange noises. so I suspect no internal damage. I am not saying a rebuild won’t be necessary. but hearing it run was encouraging! Please remember that this is an "antique" vehicle 48 years old. It needs TOTAL restoration and is consistent with a vehicle with this mileage. age and use. Car is available for pre-bid inspections and I would always encourage and welcome this. I am proud of my 100% excellent feedback score and always try to give accurate descriptions so that there are no disappointments. I am open and receptive to realistic offers considering all that is included. Those with less than ten (10) or negative feedback history do NOT bid unless you contact me and communicate first. otherwise your bids will be retracted and bidder banned from further bidding. The winning bid is NOT a right of first refusal. but a commitment to purchase the vehicle regardless of anything. so a non-refundable deposit via PayPal is required within 24 hours of auction ending and arrangements to be made for pickup of item. Vehicle is listed "for sale" by other venues and media. so I reserve the right to terminate the listing at any time. Will sell world-wide. but any and all shipping/transport arrangements to be made and paid for by winning bidder/buyer.
