Up for auction is another car from my collection of Vintage & Classic Sports Car this one is a 1969 Lotus Europa S2 I bought this car in 2008 & has been in dry storage ever since. The Lotus is equipped with a rotary engine mated to the original Lotus transmission....the engine is an 80's Mazda 13B fuel injected series which was a common swap back in the day (refer to the Lotus Forum for more info.). The vehicle is in non-running condition however was a licensed & running car when I bought it it needed a high pressure fuel pump which I installed at a cost of $300 & it then ran like a 'Scalded Dog'! The car is extremely fast with this engine however my intent was to put it back to it's original specs. as it left the factory I do have the original matching numbers engine to go with the car. The mileage shown on the speedo is:18640 but I don't believe it is correct.The body is in excellent condition with no previous accident damage the chassis is solid & straight. The interior/seats were redone in two-tone red & black vinyl in the late 90's early 2000. New carpets were also installed the headliner is in good shape but does have some mold spots on it.This Lotus was an award winner in it's class back in the late 90's & was shown at many British car events including the Ontario Lotus Club meets...hence the hand painted sign that accompanies the car.The original engine is available & is in storage at the present time hence no pics included in this auction...I can provide on request. The clutch hydraulics are weak thewindshieldrubber seal is badly deteriorated & the paint is terribly faded. The Lotus requires a mechanical restoration to make it roadworthy with or without the original engine it is however a complete car in every way. More pics are available on request.
