Description

For sale is an excellent example of a Left hand drive 1982 Mercedes-Benz 240GD. Ebay does not recognise foreign VIN's so it is listed as a 1980. All owner papers are in my name and proof of ownership can be demonstrated upon request. There are links to more than 130 Photos and 2 video's if you visit myFacebook pageGas Donkey Land Rover
The car has a 4 cylinder 2.4 Diesel Motor with a 4 speed manual transmission which has covered 143,436Kilometerswhich is 89,748 Miles. If you study the photos you will see what anexcellentexample G Wagon it is. I think the photos speak for themselves. The interior is clean and rip free and seats 6, at a push! Missing, orn or broken items have been replaced with genuine Mercedes parts.I am currently awaiting a transfer shifter gaiter and a rear fog light lense. Mercedes ordered the wrong items but they will be on the car before it leaves. As you can see it has had the turn signals upgraded to brand new clear items and the windows tinted. It also benefits from the wide arches and bigger wheel tyre combo plus a Nudge bar.All in all it is a fantastic looking G Wagen. All parts are easily obtained from your local Mercedes Benz dealer or specialist. The car looks as though it may have had normal rear seats as the brackets are there. It is not a Van version and is classified as a car. You may if you don't like the side rear seats, eplace them easily with forward facing ones. The car reaches highway speeds and did so with ease from Valencia to my home on a 3 hour mixture of Freeway and normal roads. It does around 35 mpg. It does not overheat and the previous owner has replaced the viscous fan with an electric one which also has anoverrideswitch and an extra digital temp guage. It is a turn key ready to go car.Just wait for the pre heat light to go off and it starts first crank.
This car car originates from Salamanca, pain hence the condition, ot Germany or any other northernhemispherecountry where salt is used on the roads. Important to remember when comparing to other G- wagen examples. It is also a hard top not a cold draughty soft top with very few creature comforts! This car will suit anywhere from Alabama to Alaska. It will make an excellent winter car.
The Spanish hot climate has been very kind to the car however there will be age related wear. I have tried to show this in the photos however it is much better than many 10 year old vehicles condition wise. The car is based in Cambrils North Spain. We ship from Barcelona, arragona or Valencia through SEFCO Shipping. This costs around $2300 port to port (based on shipping to Jacksonville) plus the 2.5% customs on top of the final agreed sale price. Buying cars from abroad can be scary but we do everything we can to assure you. We have an agent/sister company in Jacksonville who can help you through the whole process.
The car is 25 years old and original so has no problems getting in. It follows the strict USA import regulations. It is un-tampered with, ver 25 years and original, T GETS IN. Once in the USA the cars value will be greatly enhanced. All my cars are now in the USA registered and with their new owners with no problems as can be seen on my page. I only source original cars. You are welcome to source your own shipping company.
