The hood, runk and doors all have perfect gaps, nd open/close perfectly. The car spent its first 18 years in Arizona and the past 10 in New Jersey where she is always garaged and has never been taken out in foul weather. She has aclean carfax (which verifies the mileage as well), nd still wears her original stamped VIN and data plate on the front radiator support. There isabsolutely no rust on or under this vehicle. The car comes withoriginal booklets, anuals, nd tool kit from Mercedes.
The leather seats are in excellent conditionand have no tears and power windows function perfectly. The vacuum door locks, lock, nd thermometer work perfectly as well and is a testament to level of maintenance this car has received over the decades. Even the window washers work perfectly. The AC and heat work perfectlyand blows cold/hot air from all vents properly. The jack and spare tire appear to have never been used.
This is a third car for us and it really should be driven and enjoyed by someone who will appreciate it. It is in head-turning condition so you will get lots of compliments. All she needs is a driver.
We are the third owners of this 560SL and we and the previous owner purchased it from a dealer so I suspect the history report indicates 5 owners.
Imperfections:
I had the trunk repainted 10 years ago as there was an area that had been polished down to the primer. The carpet in the truck has an area that is damaged where something spilled on it. The paint has typical tiny road chips that one would expect from a car that is 28 years old. The center console has a barely noticeable crack. I have tried my best to photograph the imperfections.
It is likely that you know the value this car has in Mercedes Benz history. It is becoming more and more difficult to find a late R107 in incredible condition just as this one is in.This is the last real vintage Mercedes roadster, ith all of the perks of modern technology (anti-lock brake system, river’s airbag, tc). You can get in this car and drive across the United States comfortably and more importantly safely. The late R107's are very much the appreciating collectibles. The pictures truly do not do justice. The car is titled, egistered and insured in my name, eel free to email me with additional questions and I can take any specific pictures at your request.
All the best and good luck bidding,
Steve
