1984 when style and class meant something. My wife recently purchased this beautiful Mercedes on a whim. I titled the car in my name and although it is a beautiful black attention getter. it has very little practical use for us. It is a two seater with a large enough truck for two sets of golf clubs. Pictures show the car in great detail. Tires are like new with only a few thousand miles on them. The wheels are the beautiful optioned chrome plated models. I had a new water pump installed by the local Mercedes dealer. New rear springs and shocks have also been installed. The exhaust is mostly new as well. Exhaust is perfect with new muffler that we had powder coated black to disguise it as it is exposed somewhat from the factory. The only oil and filters used in this car is Amsoil. The interior has no rips. cracks or tears but there is a little wear and the dash is perfect. Carpets are like new but original. All gauges and factory radio work as they should. Convertible top looks brand new. Engine area has not been cleaned but looks correct and tidy. This is a 1984 model so do not expect a new car ride or creature comforts. In many ways it rides better than a new car with a great deal more style and class. The paint is very nice and believed to be all original but we have not owned this all of it's life so I can not verify anything other then what I see and have been told. People tell you about cars that have been garaged their entire life's but I know for a fact that this is the case with this SL. I have been all over this car and there is "0" rust on it. The underside of the car is very correct and shows that great care it has had since new. Black cars show every flaw but I know the owners history of this car including the fact that two of the owners bought the car twice over the years. It would make a great fun car for weekend cruises or local car shows. The car is being listed at a great price and at NO RESERVE so it is going to be sold.
