Description

Excellent car for the daily commute. Built like a tank. I laugh every time I turn the key. it starts and runs until I shut it off. ’87 MB 300D purchased by current owner in 2007 with 156. 00 miles. Prior to purchase previous owner had new exhaust system installed under a recall. replaced glow plugs. & welded in new jack points. Since owning have replaced the following: front & rear control arms. tie rods. drag link. front springs. front & rear struts. engine mounts. battery. mono valve. climate control unit. added 30A fuse link for climate control. rebuilt front & rear calipers. replaced master cylinder. front wheel bearings. replaced front & rear brake pads. rebuilt fuel thermostat. replaced injector to injector fuel lines. replaced in tank fuel screen. replaces rear differential subframe mounts. A/C condenser. A/C accumulator/dryer. steering gear. transmission filter and gasket. transmission cooling lines. transmission vacuum modulator. shifter bushings. recently replaced radiator. serpentine belt and belt tensioner. gets regular fuel filter changes & oil /oil filter changes. has K&N air filter. Most parts wear replaced because of normal wear for a car that was made in 1986. This is my dialy driver to and from work. When I traveled for work I would drive to Watertown. NY or Morristown. NJ from Northeastern Maryland. Never left me stranded. This car just keeps going and going with no sign of giving up the ghost. Thanks to several MB forums. salvage yards and German engineering. this car has been easy to work on for a self taught shade tree mechanic. Bought with the intention of converting to biodiesel or WVO. Kids and tuition prevented that dream. Have to sell because I acquired a 1991 300D and adding a new driver to the family…. plus tuition cost for 2 kids and I can’t afford to keep this beauty any longer. Minor body rust. sun roof currently needs to have cable reattached. unwilling to remove headliner to perform the repair. A/C needs to be charged. has full size spare. jack . and tire iron. 25-28 City MPG and 30-34 Hwy MPG.
