1967 Mercedes-Benz 300SE Coupe (Just 2,914 built between 1962 and 1967!)

Same U.S. owner since he imported it in 1983!

W111 chassis 220SE, 250SE and 280SE coupes are a dime a dozen... the W112 300SE was the top of the range and is the rarer than any W111 coupe... even the 3.5 V8s!

VIN 112021-12-009722
Engine 189987-12-001447
Exterior Color: Black (040)
Interior: Natural Leather (original to the car)
106,279 KMs on the odometer (about 66,000 miles)

I am selling this car for one of my clients, my shop has been maintaining this car for years.

The car was imported from Holland in 1983 where my client lived during the 1970s and early 80s.

In Holland, it was owned by the local Mercedes dealer J. van Dijk and Zoon, who was a car collector in addition to owning his dealership. After inspecting this car at the dealership in 1982 during a sale of many cars from the J. van Dijk and Zoon collection, my client (the current owner) bought it subject to a complete motor and mechanical rebuild which was completed in 1976 when the car had approximately 30,000KMs. Today it has 106,279KMs - about 66,000 miles.

It was repainted in early 1983 due to small door dings, and “loss of gloss”. It didn’t require any bondo work. The repaint was done by the dealership in Holland in the original paint formula and color Glasurit 040. There is NO body rust or rust repair on this car, no accidents. There are underside photos below. They were taken on a lift, with a flash. The flash doesn't create the most flattering underside shots, but you can clearly see that this is a clean car without rust or rot.

*Owner does have a copy of the build card from the MB Classic confirming color, etc.

It was shipped from Holland to St. Paul, MN in a 40 foot sea container (along with a 1971 350SL) in July 1983. My client has a large folder full of documents verifying the importation, records from when the car was in Holland, etc.

Interior—Tan leather with burled walnut wood trim. The interior is all original.

Accessories-The radio is a Becker Europa, it operates as intended. It has a retractable antenna. The sunroof is original, and has a deflector which was common on these cars in the 60’s and 70’s. There is no tool kit with the car, but the European 'Emergency Triangle' is present as well as the jack and wheel chocks.

Tires—all four tires and spare are Dunlop SV 57 and are vintage “V” rated tube type. Wheels and hubcaps are original. Jack is original.

Headlights and taillights—all original for European models. Very nice condition and great looking.

All repairs and maintenance, for many years, has been performed by my shop, Lake Country Classics, in Minneapolis.

Some highlights:
- Stainless steel exhaust system
- Rebuilt brake calipers
- New generator
- Regular work on the air suspension as needed (has been up for weeks, does not leak)
- Gas tank was removed, cleaned and resealed in the Fall of 2014

This is a great running and driving car, an absolute survivor. It is perfectly presentable and it has always been cared for. Photos simply do not do it justice.
There are 100 photos below that will give you an honest presentation of the car.

I invite 3rd party inspections or come out to see and drive the car for yourself. Call me with any questions...
