In the short time of my ownership I did get a chance to have the upper engine harness ($2000) replaced, which is known for disintegrating on early 90's Mercedes. I have receipts that total to about $5000 (not including the engine harness) in repairs just in last couple years.
The good:
Clean CA title
New tires
New upper engine harness (common problem)
New battery
New fuel hose
New cam gasket
New oiler guides (another common problem)
AC system overhauled
New throttle cable
New belts and hoses
New master door switch
Original panels and Straight body
Runs like a champ, shifts smooth has no alignment or overheating issuesAll buttons and functions work
The bad:
Needs a paint job
Headliner is starting to sag
Driver seat bolster is patched upneeds repair
Passenger side tail light cracked
Lacquer on interior wood trim is cracked (needs refinishing or replacing)
Rear headrests don't fold downNeeds radio code
Every other button/function works.
The car runs excellent I've driven it long distance with ice cold AC blasting and had no unusual sounds or overheating. Since I value mine and everyone else's time, I have tried to describe the car to the best of my ability to avoid any surprises to the potential buyer. I am not a mechanic, but I understand enough to say that this has a solid drivetrain and is reliable for a long commute. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns 818-233-0728. Thanks for looking.
