Description

This is a classic 1987 Mercedes 300TD Touring Wagon! Only 1500 were imported, so it is indeed a rare gem. These engine just go and go and go! We bought it about 8 years ago as a rig for our kids to learn to drive in - it's hard to beat the Mercedes reputation for safety. When we bought it, the odometer was broken. The guy we bought it from said it had about 125K on it. We've put maybe 10K on it, so believe it to be at about 135-140K right now.
The body is in excellent shape! Very, very little rust - none on the jack points. The paint is in really good condition. The leather is in good condition for it's age - see photos. The dash has a crack and is covered. The sunroof works well. There is a well for a third row seat - we do not have that seat. This rig could be converted to veggie oil pretty easily. The carpeting is in good shape. The interior overall is in good shape. There is an after market stereo system in it, which my son assures me is a good one. The air conditioning does not work, we don't know why, don't need it much in North Idaho! All lights, etc., are in good shape, except one small hole in each of the tail-lights.
The engine is in great shape. A German friend said they use these same engines in the taxis in Germany because they work really well and last a long time. The transmission needs work. It will not shift above third gear, so the max speed is about 35mph right now. We took it to a local guy who work on Mercedes, though not on transmissions, and he told us we wouldn't know if it's an easy fix or something more until someone got into the transmission. Our kids are passed needing it, so we haven't pursued it since both of us have our own cars.
Ask any other questions and we'll answer to the best of our ability. It has been a good rig for us overall. We are not mechanics. Price does not include any shipping/freight.
