Description

1975 Mercedes-Benz 450SE. 6. 9 Conversion. Up for auction is a super-cool "sleeper" Mercedes-Benz. Here is a stock 1975 450SE where someone has replaced the original engine with the awesome 6. 9 liter Mercedes engine. So. in this car you get the legendary 6. 9 liter performance (and this cars' level of torque and strong acceleration lives up to its' reputation). without any pesky smog requirements and without having to deal with the tricky hydraulic suspension system. The car is a beautiful car to look at. rust free. with nice body and paint. The interior is as nice as you could hope for and has minimal wear. the steering wheel and shifter knob texture is excellent (shifts through the selector gate very precisely) and a has a minimally used feel. The rest of the interior looks like it has been hardly used (very impressive for a fourty year old car). The dash top is in very good condition with only a couple of places around the instrument pod where the sun has begun to crack the dash. The car still has its' original Becker Europe II radio. the speakers crackle but no sound. The doors have to be locked manually. but the power windows and power sunroof do work. The gauges do work. The rubber weather-striping is overall in good condition. the chrome and glass is also overall very good (there is still an original window sticker from the factory showing that this car was designated as a California regulation complaint vehicle when it was built on the production line). The original owners manual is in the glove-box and shows that this car was sold new in California. the booklet shows service records till 1982; the stock 14" rims have Dunlop tires with 80% tread. The trunk/spare wheel well is clean/minimally used and dry as a bone :) The under-hood air-conditioning components have been removed (I'm assuming during the conversion); therefore the car is not equipped with air-conditioning. The heater/defroster does work. The car is sold as-is and as equipped. However. you are welcome to come see and/or have the car inspected before the end of the sale. Payment is due in full within seven days of the end of the auction. California buyers and all in-state sales are subject to sales tax. doc. & lic. fees. In California. all vehicles over ten years old are sold miles "exempt". Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer.
