This car has a European VIN WDB1260361a171485. This is a once in a lifetime shot at an outstanding time capsule. The 500SE was the shortest made Euro only model that Mercedes made in the early to mid-80s. Some rare items on this car are the adjustable Euro headlights. functioning lumbar support for the driver’s seat. and the very rare mahogany box between the seats. She also comes with a very nice. never used spare tire. recent receipts for work and the owner’s manual. Everything is immaculate and original. This example started out is Amsterdam at Motormeyer. It was bought there and imported by a Doctor in Coeur d’Alene. Idaho. Eventually this rare beauty made its way to Washington State. The color is Anthracite Grey and the paint as you can see is in amazing condition. The mechanical condition is truly amazing. I have a much newer Mercedes and my transmission is nearly as smooth as this one. The Engine has the higher European spec horsepower and the rear end ratio is also European as it gives you maximum MPG. The high gearing runs at 1800 at 65mph. 2100 as you cruise at 70mph. and an outstanding 2500 at 80mph. (Experienced 21 mpg on freeway at a steady 68mph) She runs great. Just sails down the highway and is smooth as butter. The AC system was just recently replaced at substantial cost. New OEM parts. Condenser. receiver dryer. and compressor. We also had a brand new windshield installed because of a crack from a rock. Nice wheels and very nice Toyo tires with about 70% tread remaining. The sunroof is so big it feels like a convertible when open. We can’t stress how race and nice this car is. and to find one in this condition is next to impossible. The 126 chassis Mercedes is known for being some of the best and most reliable cars ever built. This particular car is exactly what collectors like. There are still many countries that use these cars to transport high ranking government officials. presidents. and the occasional dictator. If you want the ride and feel and look of a Bentley. then this car may fit the bill. Car comes with a clean and clear title with up to date LA registration.
