Description

The 240d was a Mercedes built for fuel economy not speed. Google a little and you'll find that these cars easy go 300 - 400k+ miles. The diesel engine is one of the easiest to convert to biodiesel if you're in to that. It's got the classic old school diesel Mercedes sound. Very clean car in and out.I'm a bit of a purist and like things as close to stock as possible. When I purchased the car I understand theoriginal owner kept it until she could no longer drive and the gave to her granddaughter. It's an amazing vehicle where the power antenna still works and the original floor mats with the 240d insignia are still in place. Apparently the car has only ever been in NC and FL.I've done some minor maintenance to the car but nothing major. I did however replace the engine mounts and put a pioneer unit in the dash in place of the original Becker AM/FMcassette player however I still have the Becker unit and it will stay with the car. Now however there's a subwoofer in theturn and I replace the original dash speakers and rear deck speakers with like size as I was not going to cut the car up as it was at one time my daily driver. Car also has bluetooth now. At thesame time as the radio I had the side and rear windows professionally tinted. And I replaced the analog clock in the dash which keeps perfect time. The AC is ice cold.These were built in Germany and the door sounds like a tank when you close it. Very very good quality car - and thecondition isamazing as you'll see from the pictures.I have documentation from the time that I have owned the carwhich includes the original owners manual and the original window sticker where the car retailed for $22149 in 1981.Enjoy! $1000 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of auction end.
