Welcome again, nd thanks for taking a look at this Mercedes 300D
Of all the mass market models Mercedes put out, or the time, his was the most popular. Mercedes had always been sort of an unknown, r rather, nexperienced brand to the masses of the US. Yes, hey sold cars here, nd for a long time. But never really to the mass market. If you wanted a swanky convertible to impress the friends at the country club, ure, hey made that for you. Prior to, hough, ercedes really did not have the mass appeal of being a reliable, not true) and sound investment, or whatever reason, erception I guess.
And then the 240D and 300D variants came along in the late 70's and 80's. The 240 had been around for a long time, ut, eally, ith most people used to a V-8 under the hood, nd diesels just not being understood, he 240 was not really in the lexicon. So, he 300D arrived. With a 5 cylinder, larger displacement, nd a little more horsepower with the turbo, hey began to gain traction.
To boot, he 300's are a very comfortable ride, nd if you drive it right, lot of fun to drive as well. I still say there is nothing quite like pointing that Tri-Star emblem down the road from behind that big steering wheel and just motoring on. In a benz. Ive had three of these.
And this is a good one.
It has new injectors, nd new glow plugs, ll the filters are changed, nd it runs wonderfully. SHifts crisply, tarts right up, nd just purrs away. And did I mention the great gas mileage?
Is it perfect? No. The sunroof motor needs some attention...it is a little slow. And the A/C needs to be converted. Other than that, t is in really really nice condition. Interior is clean, ith one very small small blemish on the rear seat. This past winter, had 2 small rust patches repaired, nd then had the whole car repainted. They did a pretty good job.
The title is in my hand, ut, he title check will show that I screwed up and put the wrong mileage in when I got it registered....thus the flag. But the actual mileage is correct. And the car speaks for itself. I drive it nearly every day.
Feel free to ask questions, nd if there is anything I can add information wise, will be happy to do so. This is a very very nice car, nd I would not hesitate to drive it long distance at all.

Thanks for looking, nd good luck.
