A Very Rare Mercedes 450slc 5.0 (factory 5 liter car) in Black with Tan Leather.

I have owned this car since 2001, o I guess that is about 15 years... I have collected Mercedes cars for roughly 30 years. It came from Texas where it was imported into the USA (like all 5.0 models) as a Euro market car. If you don't already know what this model is, hen you probably are not interested, f you know what a 450slc 5.0 is then you already know the history, o I will spare you the details.

As mentioned it is a Texas car (after living in Germany) and it has never seen a day of wet weather since I have owned it. It is stored with other early Mercedes cars in a secure, eated garage year round. It has never seen salted roads.

The car starts on the first turn, oes not burn oil and runs great. I added the car to my collection, ook it to car shows, nd drove it in two Mercedes Club StarFest Driving Events. It was very competitive due to it's light weight and roughly 300 (USA) horse power. It ran 2 minute laps at Mid-Ohio Race Course, hich is outstanding for a 1979 automobile.

There is nothing like the look on a guy's face who is driving a new AMG car being passed by a car from the 1970's...

It has had regular service regardless of miles, hat would include oil changes and brake fluid changes.

One modification I made was that the original non-limited slip 2:42 rear end was replaced with a Limited Slip 3.46 differential from a 450sel 6.9 Sedan. The original factory differential is included with the sale. The car really needed the limited slip differential, nd it was an option available on these cars. This car is really fast with the lower gearing (set up for Mid-Ohio's relatively short course), ut replacing the original differential to make the car stock is an easy switch. The car has never been abused. It was well maintained and driven (couple of times) like it was intended to be driven. It performed flawlessly.

The car also has a very rare set of 15" Bundt Cake wheels with 15" tires. These cars originally came with 14" Bundt Cake wheels and the 15" are a great improvement. The 15 " wheels are very rare and were only available on the 6.3 and 6.9 liter sedans.

I also have a very are set of 16" BBS wheels with BBS centers and installation tool for this car at additional cost for interested buyers.

Black with Tan Leather is a great color combination. Many of these cars had velour interiors (favored in Europe), ut we seem to prefer the leather here in the USA.

The windows are tinted due to being a Texas car, assume. The Blauplunkt radio is period correct, ut not likely stock, am not sure if it was an option. Unfortunately the dash is cracked (again thanksto Texas) and is covered with a black well fitted dashcover that looks great. The A/C blows cool, ut not cold (like most early MB cars). This is a used car and not perfect. It is not a show car. It is a goo, solid, ust free example of a very rare car that is bound to appreciate in the years to come. I am getting older andhave purchased a house in Florida and I need to let a few cars go. This one was a "keeper" until now. A complete new factory "sub-frame" was installed per a MB factory recall in 2004. Sold "AS IS", WHERE IS". Please ask questions in advance of the purchase in case I forgot something,and please come take a look. Car has no catalytic convertors installed (stock Euro car), ut includes a set if you need them where you live. Car is titled as a 1980 450slc 5.0... It is a 1979 model according to the serial number, ut was imported in 1980 hence the 1980 on the title. Not a big deal to me, ut you can have it corrected if you like.

Test drives are fine as long as there is no salt on the roads of Ohio at the time. I am open to offers. Let me know.
