Description

This daily driver has received a LOT of TLC in the last couple years. It is well on its way to full restoration. It has a strong 4.5 liter V8. It came from West Covina, alifornia two years ago and has zero rust. I am the third owner, nd the last owner purchased it around 1983 and kept it until 2013. It was put into storage for almost 10 years (I have some documentation for this too). I don't have hard proof, ut it doesn't appear to have turned one hundred thousand and my mechanic doesn't think so either based on his check of the timing chain, t shows very little wear. I had the heads removed, leaned and new valve guides installed, ew gaskets, ew upper chain guides and cam sprockets. The body is super straight, ith only three or four very tiny parking lot dings probably from the indoor storage is was in. In addition to this work, t has since received the following:
- NEW full exhaust installed 2 weeks ago with proper factory pipes (not a cheap muffler shop job) Awesome stock Mercedes V8 4.5 sound.- NEW transmission in 2013 (almost $4K)- NEW Michelin tires (they have about 3000 miles on them)- NEW brake lines (all around)- NEW Distributor Trigger Points (not rebuilt, hese are NEW very hard to get)- NEW Auxiliary Slide Valve (also not rebuilt, rand new factory replacement, lso very hard to get)- NEW tie rods- NEW temp sensor- NEW NOS Thermo Time Switch- NEW Ambient Temp Sensor- NEW 100C temp sensor- NEW rubber hoses- NEW Throttle Position Sensor - VERY hard to get get part and it is the correct factory part number. (throttle body was also removed, nd carefully cleaned)- NEW fuel injectors- NEW fuel regulator- NEW distributor vacuum advance- RESTORED wood trim on the dash and all four doors (one piece on the drivers door still needs resto but 99% done- RESTORED wood on the front dash (see the pictures, t is awesome- NEW heater core and all associated levers- Working AC- Converted to electronic ignition (no more points, ut all the original equipment works too and will be provided with the car- NEW cap, otor, lugs, ires- FULL and extensive maintenance including new fuel pump, uel filter, uel tank strainer, nd trigger points cleaning.
As can be seen, his car has received a lot of TLC to bring it to nice daily driver condition. All the hard work has been done. You can buy one of these for $12K and still have to do most of this work! This one has most of the hard work already done so it's a steal at $11K. The engine alone has had every sensor replaced to full working condition. It has a 2 year old water pump as well.
It is a very nice driver but to be perfect should be painted. It appears to have been repainted about 20 years ago or so, he original color, nd that paint is thin on the roof and hood. The trunk lid has a 3 inch radius bubble in the paint where it had been repainted. All four power windows work. The front seats need to be redone. The rear seats are in very good shape, ust need to have a very small tear repaired. It has had thousands of dollars invested in it. I enjoyed it very much, ut I can't finish the restoration.
Paint it and redo the seats and you'll have a really great mechanically sound ride that only continues to grow in popularity and value.
