With a background in aeronautical engineering, nton "Tony" Ostermeier produced exceptionally built Gullwing reproductions on a modern Mercedes 300E chassis using aluminum reinforced with aircraft epoxy/fiberglass and steel. The specification was modern, ncluding 4-wheel disc brakes, ir conditioning, nd full leather interiors, hile the parts were so accurate and of high quality, hey were interchangeable on authentic 300SL coupes and roadsters. It is thought that only about 50 Gullwings were constructed in total, ith the majority going overseas.

This particular example was recently acquired from the estate of its sole and original California owner. Purchased in late September 1994, he car displays just over 6,000 miles and shows well with the best of classic Gullwing design combined with a modern chassis, onveniences, omfort and reliability. Its cabin still smells of leather, ppearing authentic in configuration, ith the addition of a wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel, riginal "period" Becker Mexico radio, ir conditioning, eat belts and automatic transmission paired to a Mercedes-Benz 3.0 Liter engine. The build quality and attention to detail is remarkable and faithful to the original 300SL, ith the ability to suit as a daily driver if desired with a contemporary feel and ample trunk space.

Accompanied by original documentation, ncluding Bill of Sale, epair invoices, ealer brochures, ull Wing Group membership and newsletters, s well as a signed pamphlet to the owner from Tony Ostermeier.
