Description

1968 Cougar. rare factory J code 302 4V engine. 3 speed manual transmission. factory 8" 3. 00 Trac Lok rear end. This Cougar is completely stock and original. it was a one owner car until it was parked. I have the original warranty card and owners manual. Sadly the title was lost. I was given a copy of the title that was in the original owners paperwork but the title itself was nowhere to be found. The original owner has passed away. The gentleman I bought it from knew the original owner and bought the car from his estate. He started paperwork for ownership on the car but did not finish getting a title. He gave me a release of interest form from the state so you can rest assured this beauty is not stolen. This car is either a serious project or a parts car for another Cougar. Mustang or Shelby GT350 missing its original J code drive train. The engine is the vin stamped original and is stock down to its original carburetor. distributor. fuel pump. air cleaner. heat shield etc. The carburetor and distributor are correct for 4 speed cars also. The factory smog pump and anti backfire valve have been removed and are being sold in a separate auction. The engine is seized from setting so a rebuild will be required. Looks like it was parked over a charging issue as the alternator and regulator are gone. The body on this car is very straight as are the moldings. Valances are very straight also but the rear one has a small hole in it for a trailer plug. easy fix. The car has a factory bench seat in it but the arm rest seems to be missing. may be in the trunk though. I will look. The body of this car has quite a bit of rust from sitting. the fenders seem very solid other parts are useable also. hood and trunk lid have rust under the lips. There are several small holes drilled in the body panels for amateur radio antennas. If you are trying to piece together a J code engine these parts can add up. you can get them all together. date code matching and part out the car to minimize the cost. The 8in. posi. and the manual transmission conversions are both worth a fair amount along with all the great parts on this completely unmolested muscle car.
