Description

This car all stock unrestored all origina, the 260 V8 engine runs nice very strong, no smok, no knocks, automatic tranny shifts good. complete original drive train. This car was from a estate sale one family owned, it was kept in storage for decades a true barn find . Car does run and drive but the power brake booster or brakes are not working.
The bucket seats are still original with the original factory seat covers not torn or even ripped up. console is origina, car came from the factory with factory installed air conditioning unit and power brakes.Everything is stock nothing has been changed down to the hubcaps. car was never in a car wreck, car still has original fender, doors and bumpers. This is not a rust bucket or a bondo car since it is unrestored. what you see is what you get nothing is hidden.
The console is in good shape, the gauges all wor, all the emblems are there, this car's engine is in great running condition with minimal rust, only rust I found is on the curve of the front toe boards that you can fiberglass or replace.( I have the replacement parts included) and on the drivers door in the front corner on a easy to fix flat area.Other than that, the floor boards are solid, underneath the front seats are solid, behind the seat is solid, underneath the rear seat is solid, frame rails solid as well as the trunk are only surface rust.
I have pictures of everything since I pulled the carpet out so everything is clear nothing hiding!. This S33 a one year only hard top that was one step above the S22 and one step below the S55. So it is a very rare and collectible car in the mercury family. The 1963 S33 is the same as the 1963 fairlane sports coupe, windows, glass, rubber good, gas tank, dash pad, door panels, seat cover, carpet and many other parts interchange making this an easy restoration. This car is better than fair condition but I'm selling it as a #4 fair condition car for $5800 OBO. it is priced right for anyone to buy especially with the factory installed air conditioning that ads 15% value to this car!

History of the 1962-1963 Mercury MeteorFor 1962, Mercury repositioned its full-size Meteor, shifting the name to a mid-size sibling of the Ford Fairlane that utilized a 116.5-inch wheelbase. Advertisements for the new car touted its twin personalities: small size coupled with surprising roominess and luxury.

The Meteor was available as two- and four-door sedans, a two-door hardtop, and a four-door station wagon, and could be ordered with 170-cid and 223-cid six-cylinder engines, as well as a 145-hp 221-cid V-8, or a 260-cid V-8 with 164 hp. Both manual and automatic transmissions were possible, and a standard, a Custom, and an S-33 trim (only available on two-door models) widened the car’s range. The Custom added slightly more trim and comfort inside, while the S-33 added sportier features like bucket seats and a center console.

Mercury added a four-door station wagon and a hardtop coupe to the Meteor lineup for 1963, and also freshened the exterior slightly. The four-door station wagon could be decorated with DI-NOC faux wood siding, and a four-speed was added to the options list, though few were ordered. Engine choices remained largely the same. Sales of 100,000 over the two-year run didn’t meet company expectations, however, and the model was cancelled for 1963.

The 1962 and 1963 Mercury Meteor wasn’t particularly powerful or fast, but it was certainly stylish. It also offered a greater degree of comfort than similar Fords. All the same, relatively few were built which can make locating a solid example difficult, and locating replacement parts even more troublesome.
