Description

This is a very clean 1968 Cougar Hardtop Base (not an XR7) with the GT Equipment Group. All numbers are matching...including the sheet metal. This is a nice easy project for someone with the time and ability to finish it. All the hard and expensive work is done. It has a big block 390ci-4V code 'S' (325hp) professionally rebuilt engine with headers and less than 100 miles on the rebuild. The engine runs very strong! The automatic trans is a heavy duty 3 speed C-6 Merc-O-Matic which shifts perfectly. The exterior has recently been professionally refinished in the original code 'N' Diamond Blue color (white with a tint of blue) and it looks beautiful! The interior is Light Blue in nice original shape with a bench seat and floor shifter. The odometer reads 30903 which I believe to be accurate based on the condition of the body frame interior panels seats carpet pedal wear and the fact that it was previously a drag car. This was originally a West Coast car built at the San Jose plant. I have a clean NH title and Marti Report for the car. The Marti Report shows it had power steering originally but that has been removed and I don't have the necessary components to put it back in. I believe the only parts missing are the front and rear valances which are readily available from Mustangs Unlimited at $250 for both pieces. The engine dash seats and floor shift are installed but the carpet door panels and all glass needs to be installed. A front sway bar also has to be installed which I have. The passenger side of the bench seat seams are split which any upholstery shop could repair at a reasonable cost. Otherwise the seats door panels and carpet are in good shape. As of May 2015 Hagerty values this car @ $31400 in #1 condition $24000 in #2 and $17100 in #3 condition. It really wouldn't take much to put this car in #2 condition if you have the ability and desire. All the expensive and hard work has been done. This would make a great car for the muscle enthusiast that wants a real nice car for short money and a little sweat equity. I just have too many projects going on and have to free up some cash to complete them. I am not interested in trades of any kind. I feel my "Buy It Now" price of $12500 is very fair but will consider reasonable offers close to this figure. NO LOW BALLERS PLEASE!Please contact me via text or phone...603-716-3913 or via eBay messaging with any questions. Thank you for looking! Jim
