1962 MG Midget ex Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing. ( RMVR ) Race Car with a log book and clear title (last raced in 2001) which with a few upgrades could quickly become a vintage racer again. The car was retired to weekend fun drives and short trips in the spring. summer and fall. The body is in almost excellent condition with minor rust on the body. The Monocoque frame/chassis has only surface rust. The floors and rockers are solid. The grill is from a AH Sprite but the Midget grill comes with the car. Pictures show small imperfections in paint and small bubbles. The front valence below the grill has a dent. This car was upgraded with a 1275 motor IT DOES LEAK OIL. new main bearings and rings in 2001( NO SMOKE from engine ever) and cross flow radiator with electric cooling fan with temperature control/manual override( surprise no coolant leaks). This MG has an oil cooler. upgraded front disc brakes and big (1275) rear axels. Also. a speedwell front sway bar and a rear panhard bar. Three sets of wheels: original steel wheels with old original tires. Rostyle wheels with no tires and VTO black spoke polished lip Libra style (very Cool) wheels with excellent Kumo tires. It has a newer soft top in excellent condition and an older tonneau cover in very good working order. The seats are not original. but period looking with some rips and repairs. Driver seat has hand pump for lumbar support . The non original steering wheel has a horn button under the steering column with Italian style air horns (a high pitch sound - if they do not see you they will hear you. The heater box and controls. as well as the wipers. have been removed to save weight ( these parts come with the the car to install if you want heat and wipers). This car comes with after market. period correct outside door handles which have been removed. but I have them with other spare parts. including front air dam and rear wheel arches (fiberglass) for wider rear wheels( never installed). plastic headlight bubbles for head light removal and a roll bar (not legal for RMVR any more). There is no fuel cell in this car. as it was raced by me before a fuel cell was required. This MG has an electric fuel pump. Pertronix ignition (points and rotor no more). This car has a spare tire and a jack. All systems are in good working order. however the Tachometer bounces around it was changed from cable drive to electric. Generator removed . lternator now in its place. THIS CAR IS NOW NEGATIVE GROUND. This vintage car has a great vibe to it. I purchased the car in 1999 it had an Oregon title. Kids love this car because it is a size they can imagine driving. Adults love it because of the race look. Every time we drive this classic we get lots of smiles people wave or point at us. A lot of questions at gas stations and restaurants. we even drove the kids on our block around in it . hat joy this little devil is!
