Description

I bought this car on eBay a year and a half ago, from a broker. It appears to have been mechanically updated and cosmetically restored in 2002; it apparently has 3,471 miles on it since then. I think it had been used as a showroom model at a tire store. It has nice mag-style wheels and wide Bridgestone Potenza tires. It has a 2.8-liter GM V6 with 5-speed transmission; its differential assembly seems to be from a Ford 2.8 liter Mustang or Maverick. The car looks a lot like a show car, but panel fit is only average; it is really just a pleasant driver. I have lowered the car an inch with “Road, Sprint” springs from Moss Motors at the front and a lowering block at the rear. The car is a joy to drive – the engine is peppy, the clutch and transmission are smooth, the suspension feels taut and balanced, and the wide tires provide great traction.

The car has no problems that I’m aware of; everything works. The paint has a few chips and scratches, and the exhaust tip is marred and a little bit rusty, but nothing noticeable from a few feet away, and the rear of the hood has been raised slightly. On the road it looks great. The canvas top doesn’t really fit correctly, and some of the lift-the-dot studs are missing, but it looks good and works fine for occasional use in the rain. There is also a small tear in the carpet on the bottom of the trunk. I kept the car garaged but bought a cover just in case. I also bought a “dead pedal” (left foot rest) from Moss motors but never installed it.

Why am I selling? I’m getting older, and routine cleaning and maintenance of my toys is taking too much of my energy.
