MGB GT, 1972
68,000 original miles, excellent condition
Absolutely rust free body and chassis, show quality paint, all new interior, excellent drive trains (1798cc engine, 4 speed all synchromesh transmission), wire wheels, all new chrome. A gorgeous example.
Alternator, excellent wiring, new oil cooler and lines, rebuilt SU carbs, original air cleaners, redone brakes, fairly new radial tires, starts instantly, runs perfectly, drives like new.
In its day, the MGBGT was called (in England) the ‘poor man’s Aston Martin’ due to the similar shape and use and the Aston having the first lift back hatchback, the BGT being the first popular priced car with the same style. And for today’s use, of course, it isn’t how fast you go, rather how fast you think you are going. Which is an excellent way to have fun and not get speeding tickets.
Has a top speed of around 105 mph and will cruise all day at 80-90 mph. Economical, reliable, and parts are easily had and remarkably inexpensive. We can also install both air conditioning AND a very powerful supplemental heater for extreme cold or hot use.
This car was restored by its last owner and was done to a very high level. ALSO…….yes, if preferred, the stripes are just stick-on and easily removed. Thank you for looking, and happy bidding.
