Description

Up for auction is my brothers rare first year 1963 MGB. This first year MGB has the desirable steel dash with toggle switches, stow away soft top, pull handle door handles ( only in production for 2 years ) and wire wheels. The car went through a very expensive restoration between2004 - 2009 but now is in need of a freshening up and a few door fit adjustment. File:The car haswas restored starting in 2004 and spanned5 years and in the end had a filenearly 2 inches thick of invoices totally over$22,000. This file is truly amazing. Mechanically:The car runsgreat and has tight and responsive steering. The car starts right up with no issues or smoke and holds very good oil pressure. The car has been converted toa single Webbercarburetorfor reliability and performance. The car shifts up / down through all gears with no bindingor grinding of the gears. Brake and clutch peddles are strong. It would take a day or longer to detail everything that has been doneto the car in the file with over $22,000 in receipts but some of the high lights would be a complete engine rebuild, rebuilt transmission, upgraded carburetor, new radiator, new gas tank, new fuel pump new radial tires and list goes on and on and on.
Gauges:All gauges are correct and original "Smith" brand. Note the tach cable needs to be replaced so I'll order a new one and "try" to get it installed.
Interior: Is in serviceable condition but as you can see it needs some touch up. Exterior: The car presents herself nicely in the photoswitha nicesoft top and the high end wire wheel package really sets the car off and apart from what you normally see out there. The chrome on the carshines bright. The paint is lets say "fair" but to really do the car justice you should plan on painting her. OK as a driver but opinions very. Note: I don't think it visible in the photos but there is a vertical crease about 5 inches long on the drivers front fender ( should easily poppedoutor repaired ) Underbody:The underbody is ingood condition. The frame, floors and inner sillslookextremely solid. Note: I should have underbody photos available sometime Monday ( just email me and I'll get them sent over ). Soft Top:Is invery goodcondition. The soft topis the correct earlier "stow away" type. Trunk: The trunk is rock solid and has a spare wire wheel and knock off carp wrench. Shipping:If you need to have the car shipped to your location here in the states you can get a fast and free online quote from Able Auto Transport at: http://www.ableautotransport.com/
Overseas Bidders:Yes the auction is open to overseas bidders. The auction is open to overseas bidders and if you need to ship overseas try Schumacher Cargo Logisticsshipping for fast free quotes ( http://www.schumachercargo.com/ ).
I don't claim to be an expert and my opinion ofthe car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or extra photoslet me knowprior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see and drive the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. No warranties / guarantees are expressed or implied. Due to the cars age she is being sold "as is" and mileage exempt. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end time
