Description

This early MG TC with matching numbers was restored from the ground up by the previous owner who cherished and babied the car for several decades. Every nut and bolt was refurbished or replaced in the late 90s. Since then, only 8000 miles have been logged. The car runs perfectly and is strikingly beautiful. The new leather upholstery and canvas top complement the rich green finish. (Note that the photos where the green is lighter reflects the camera flash. The color is truer in the darker images) I dont know why ebay has written its own title for this listing. It says New Leather and i cannot seem to change it. In truth, the car is virtually ALL new because of its high quality restoration!
Many new parts were included during the restoration. Many of these parts are either no longer available or prohibitively expensive today. These include new carbs, leather upholstery, canvas top, and well as many new chrome pieces including complete, expensive headlight assemblies. The restoration included new steel front wings from Abington Spares. Since this is such an early car these new fenders left a slight gap between the hood and fenders where they meet. This did not concern the previous owner nor has it bothered me. However, i found two very early fenders and tried them on. They fill the gap and will fit perfectly. They will just need new holes for the headlight cross bars, and filling of the existing holes. Side curtain frames are included, but need new coverings. The reserve price is for the car as is, but the older fenders are available for my cost of $1750 for both.
According to the prior owner, the car was appraised for $36,500, but i have no documentation on this. The reserve is considerably lower than that appraisal or my own investment. More than $25,000 in receipts for parts and labor are included, as well as photos of the restoration process. Only 1675 TCs were built in 1946. This one was born on September 9, 1946. This is car number TC1348, Engine XPAG1939. If you want a near-concourse car at a much lower price than you'll find elsewhere, this is the one for you.
