On the cover of the 1967 MG brochure, he MGB GT coupe was described as the sportscar “for the man with the Octagon Sprit… magic in a new shape MGB GT.” The stunning new design was the work of legendary designer, ininfarina. This Northern California MGB GT is a true gem, aving been enthusiast owned since new. The first owner lived near Napa and was active in local autocross club events. I purchased the car from the second owner, ho was a family friend of the first owner. The friend’s wife fell in love with the car and became the primary driver. She described the first owner as being obsessed with keeping the car in perfect tune. At this time the car was painted a light sage green, eminiscent of the early Aston Martin green. The shade is perfection and attracts admirers everywhere she goes. She’s quite simply a happy car. Inside, he interior was redone in its original black. As an early MGB, he car has the coveted metal dash and James Bond radio speaker console. The powertrain is the original 1.8L four cylinder engine coupled with the rare, ighly desirable, verdrive optioned transmission. Upon my purchase of the car I had an inspection done by a local MG shop and the compression was found to be excellent. The mechanic was very impressed with the straight and rust-free condition of the body. The panel fit is incredible with no signs of any previous body repair. All of the original seam welds in the front engine bay and rear trunk area are in tact, eading me to believe the car has never been in a collision. The original black & yellow license plates are in excellent condition. Currently, he car is fitted with pricey, $1,600, lloy Minator mini-lite wheels from England with Dunlop SP60 tires. The original painted wire wheel spare and the original jack & jack bag remain with the car. If the new owner prefers wire wheels, he mini-lites are very easy to sell on eBay and Motor Wheel Service (MWS) manufactures stainless spoke wire wheels for a very reasonable price. Please feel free to call with any question (650)483-65(six)7. I am available to show the car in Burlingame, alifornia.
The car is available locally for inspection. Vehicle is sold as is, here is, ith no warranties expressed or written. I have a clear California title for the car in my name. Vehicle will be released with title once payment is received in full. The car is advertised locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
