Description

This 1967 912 was restored to its present condition in Arizona and completed probably during 2006 or 2007. It was purchased and brought to St. Louis sometime around 2010. The original color was Polo Red with a black leatherette interior. Although the present colors are not original. the car is very attractive in its current colors. The CoA indicates also that while the car retains its original five-speed transmission. the engine has been replaced. The engine was reported to have been rebuilt during the restoration in Arizona. It is a strong running engine with the desirable European heater. The transmission was probably rebuilt at the same time as it shifts smoothly in all gears. A compression check was done and the numbers are: 1) 145psi 2)140psi 3)120psi and 4) 150psi. The 5 correct chrome plated wheels are dated- 3 are 5/66 and 2 are 9/66. This agrees with the production completion date of 1/19/1967 which means that the car was being assembled during the later part of 1966. The body is solid and shows no signs of any wreck damage. All chrome is in good to excellent condition. The dash has been replaced with the 911 wood insert. The person who had the car restored obviously liked to listen to the radio because he installed an upgraded system complete with amplifiers and super speakers. The floor pans are solid as are the rockers. The front suspension mounting points are solid with no sign of rust damage. This is an excellent driving 912 and can be enjoyed as it is or since it is a solid Western car which can be restored to its original specifications if desired.
