Description
I am listing this car for my brother who is losing his sight. Up for bids is this very nice. fully restored '59 Metropolitan convertible! Dubbed the cutest car ever built & I agree. Many things on the car are new from paint to upholstery. top to bottom. tires & hubcaps. It has the original 4 cylinder engine that has been rebuilt. It starts good. idles smoothly and cool. Very clean. grease free & tidy under the hood. Brakes are all new with new master cylinder. Tires are new radials with 100 miles on them. It handles great going down the road & shifts nicely with a new chrome shifter and bushings. All parts were purchased at Met-Pit-Stop in Hollywood. California. (Thousands of dollars of receipts) New clutch. disc & throw out bearing & pressure plate - all working very smoothly with no chattering. All glass is good with new rubber moldings. Professional paint done about 10 yrs ago. Less than 100 miles since completed restoration. All new interior including seats. door panels & carpet. The convertible top is new also Chrome bumpers are new. Wipers. headlights(high & low). blinkers. brake. dash & parking lights all working along with horn. The underside of car is clean with no rust through. The trunk looks good and has been painted just like the front underneath the carpet. A new battery box and battery. The convertible top goes up & down easily which takes less than 5 minutes manually. New tonneau cover for when the top is down. So in review. this is a "cute" little 'met' that runs. drives. stops and looks great. Hundreds of hours of labor and thousands of dollars have been spent on this car in a 3 yr. process and now must be sold. I've tried my best to describe accurately and if I have missed anything. please contact me via email to exchange phone numbers to further discuss this car in detail. The reserve is set at half of what I've seen some of these cars listed for and I feel it is fair. I know you will love driving and owning this car. Just be ready for all the attention it gets from people. It brings many smiles and 'the thumbs up' when out cruising around. Bid with confidence as it is a very nice car.
