Description

After 13 years of ownership, have decided to sell my 1990 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo. Please note that after 13 years, have amassed a huge amount of information on this car, o please reach out for any details that aren’t well explained.

First, ome background:

This car was purchased as a project for me and my father in 2003. Before it was purchased, his car was a daily-driven naturally aspirated 5-speed car with 184,XXX miles. It was my goal to completely restore the car and turn it into something special. Since I have had this car, have put a total of 40,000 miles on it over 13 years, o it has been driven very sparingly. These miles are split about half before the turbo conversion and half after it was completed. That means that almost NOTHING on this car has over 40,000 miles, nd it really shows!

Basic Info:

Chassis: 1990 300zx NA à225,XXX miles

Engine/Transmission: Rebuilt and refreshed 1992 JDM VG30DETT (Twin turbo) and JDM TT 5-speed transmission with approx 40,XXX total miles (25K since refresh before installation)

Upgrades (this is the part that is extensive so I will try to break it up the best I can):

*Exterior:

-OEM ’99 JDM spec front bumper with Fog lights and turn signals

-OEM ’99 JDM spec Tail lights and center panel

-OEM Nissan 350Z rims (from my father’s car, hich was curbed a little before I installed them)

-Brand new Yokohama tires all around

-Complete teardown and respray done on the car in 2006. The paint still looks amazing to this day

*Interior:

-completely reupholstered seats and center console with black leather and red stitching (you WILL NOT find a 300zx with an interior in better condtion than this one!!)

-New OEM floormats

*Engine/Performance:

- Refreshed JDM VG30DETT with 525 BHP @21 psi

- T3/T4 hybrid turbos spec’d by Ash Powers

- ASHspec performance Intercoolers

- Blitz SuperSound Blow off valves

- Deutschwerks 650cc injectors

- ASHspec piggyback ECU tuning interface

- ASHspec Doolz twin filter intake

- Snow performance Water/Methanol Injection

- Walbro 255 in-tank fuel pump

- Apexi AVCR electronic boost controller

- AEM wideband O2 sensor

- Greddy turbo timer

- Labree split flange downpipes with X-midpipe and 2.5” Stainless “cat back” exhaust (please note, his car does NOT have catalytic converters)

*Driveline:

-semi solid engine mounts

-Nismo upgraded transmission mount

-JWT Stage 3 clutch

-Z1 performance single piece driveshaft

-rebuilt NA Limited Slip Differential

*Suspension:

-Tein performance springs (slightly lowered ~.75”)

-Tokico Blue gas shocks

-suspension techniques torsion bars

Now for Maintenance:

-oil changed 250 miles ago (AMS oil 10W30)

-Clutch bleed 250 miles ago

-Plugs changed 10K ago (good for another 10K)

-coolant flush 10K ago

-Transmission and differential fluid change 10K ago

-Brand new Battery

-Timing belt completed at 195K on Odometer (this must be done every 60k)

The good things about the car:

-See above!!! This car has been extensively maintained and enchanced over the last 13 years! Mostly garaged and mostly parked. NEVER taken to a track/ launched / abused etc.

-Please note: This car is very potent and could be quite dangerous in the wrong hands. Since it is old enough to be considered an antique, his car was not equipped with airbags or traction control.

The bad:

-If left sitting for 2+ weeks without running, he battery will drain and need to be recharged

-As mentioned earlier, he wheels have a small amount of curb rash from when they were on my father’s 350Z

-While this car is an absolute monster at wide open throttle, t is somewhat rough at cruising speeds/RPMs and during idle. This car could probably benefit from a professional tune where the “open loop” portion of the control system could be fine tuned for less harshness during low load use.

-Power locks no longer work, ar must be opened with the key (pretty minor if you ask me)

-Needs a new power steering belt (very squeaky). There is a chance I will already have this fixed before the car is purchased.

*** Please, o low ball offers or trade proposals. I AM NOT INTERESTED IN TRADES OF ANY KIND. I have decided to sell this car so that I can pay off my student loans, o I am not looking for another toy at this time. I would love to entertain any questions you may have, nd I would also like to mention that for local sales, am more than willing to provide technical assistance down the road for any issues or questions that come up during your ownership of the car. This car has been my pride and joy for a long time and I want to see it go to a good home and continue to be cared for and enjoyed.
