Description

PLEASE READ COMPLETELYORIGIN: I bought this car from an individual in 1997 as my everyday car. I do not know its previous history. During the years I have owned it it has been in no accidents and it gave me great service. Read below why it was parked. If memory serves it got about 25 miles to the gallon and used no oil. I drove this car about 30000 miles.WHY STOPPED DRIVING IT: About a month before parking it the starter (or solenoid on starter) starting going bad. It would only click sometimes and the starter would not run until finally it failed completely. This would be an easy fix however; on this car its a major job to replace the starter. The 2 or 3 bolts securing the starter isn't the problem its the getting to it. It would push off fine but rather than fix it I retired it and was going to fix it when I had time. That time never came just bought another work car. So now it has set long enough. I feel this car could be put back in service with someone mechanically inclined. I'm not a mechanic so I really don't know. You be the judge.BODY: The body is in great shape. No major dents anywhere. One little rusty spot on the trunk lid (as shown in picture) about the size of a pencil eraser. The roof has some hail dings on it from a storm we had several years ago nothing major. The car was painted at sometime but not while I have owned it. The paint is ok but dull. The car has no alignment issues. All body lines are good. All doors work as they should. Windows all roll up and down as they should. The two front tires only have a bout 7000 miles on them before I parked it. They still look ok but may have age issues. The back tires have good tread but are starting to dry rot and one will only hold air for a day. I connected a jump starter to car and checked light fan etc and that all seemed to work but the starter did not ( of course).MECHANICAL: As mentioned earlier the engine had no known issues at the time I parked it except for the starter. Transmission shifted fine - no noise. The clutch worked fine when I parked it however I depressed the clutch pedal to take it out of gear and move it and the pedal stayed in the depressed position. I would say the master cylinder or slave is stuck and may need replacing. The good thing is they are both easy to get to from the top of the vehicle. This car would have to be trailered to move it; or the front tires would have to be placed on the back( if using a dolly) as the one rear tire doesn't hold air overnight. I would think draining the gas flushing fuel lines possible new fuel pump or clean that one battery and starter should get it running. Again I am No mechanic. Other problems could have developed from setting that I know nothing about. Check with a mechanic before you make a decision as this vehicle is being sold as is. If local and interested I encourage and suggest you come look at it if possible.INTERIOR: The interior of this car is great for its age. No cracks in the dash Has original Stanza floor mats. Carpet is good. Doesn't appear that spare has ever been on ground. No interior water leaks. Seat could use cleaning but cloth is great except for wear spot on drivers seat back(see picture) Original owners manual is included. I don't know origin of car but I feel its a southern car as I have seen no signs of salt damage etc.SALE: I listed the car here because I thought it was too good to scrap however; if it does not sell in this listing; I plan to relist it one part at a time as used parts for these cars are rare. The winning bidder will receive a clear signed Mississippi title. I am Not a dealer so if you need a bill of sale or something else please let me know in advance of pick up.If you have any questions please ask. If you need a picture of something I'll get it for you. May take a while to reply as I work really odd hours.
