The 1970 Toronado GT showcased the last year of this iconic flowing bodystyle. It is hard to get a Toronado confused with another car. Just this spring March 2016) over $5,100 was spent on various mechanical maintenance on this Toronado with verifying receipts. This example showcases a repaint of the correct Regency Red metallic finish front to back. The vinyl top is in excellent condition and the paint shows well, solid driver quality base/clearcoat. Enjoy our presentation and feel free to contact Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with any questions.

The Toronado rides on a 119-inch wheelbase. By 1970, the overall length had grown to just under 215 inches, from 211 inches in the original '66 model. The wheels of choice are standard Toronado pressed-steel wheels. This 15x6 inch wheels wear 215/75R15 whitewall tires all around. The correct center caps are standard Oldsmobile caps with the traditional Oldsmobile logo.

The hidden headlamps would be eliminated for the 1970 model year. The front bumper and grille displayed a complete redesign. The quad headlamps were paired with running lights.

The "GT" package was discreet on the exterior, consisting of a small "GT" badge next to Toronado along with the inclusion of dual-exhaust cut-outs for the rear bumper.

Open the doors to 1970. This is a plush Toronado, very comfortable to drive. Interestingly, most customers opted for the comfortable bench seat in lieu of the optional bucket seating and center console, even on the GT model. This just made for a better ride for the driver and passengers. This car retains its original seating, in really remarkable condition. There are only a few tears in the fabric, photographed below.

The dash is in excellent condition as is the instrumentation throughout this Toronado. The air conditioning system has been serviced with regularity and blows very cold, comfortable to drive in this Texas 100 degree weather we're having lately.

Under the hood is the unique and toque-rich 455 cubic inch V8. This powerplant is rated at 400 horsepower for the 1970 Toronado GT model thanks to increased breathing from the cylinder heads utilized. The engine compartment is in good shape front to back, displaying the original sheetmetal throughout the firewall, inner fenders and core support.
The original trim identification plate is in place and completely legible. This car was ordered in Regency Red, this hard to find rose-colored hue.
Recent work performed includes the following ;

Control Arm Bushings Upper & Lower

Adjusted Ride Height & Torsion Bars - Leveled
Grand Total : $5164.51 with detailed receipts

The undercarriage showcases the Toronado's unitized body & front subframe assembly. The front suspension is an independent torsion-bar type setup with hydraulic shocks and an anti-roll bar.

The differential features factory equipped 3.07 gearing, perfect for the highway and town. This car has excellent road manners and again is an absolute pleasure to drive.

The unitized body and floorboards are really in excellent condition front to back underneath this '70 Toronado GT.
