This is the chance to for the right person to own a truly great classic car. I bought the vehicle in 2012 from a friend who had owned the vehicle for the last 30 years. He had purchased it from his friend the original owner. The car when I bought it was in good shape physically but just okay shape mechanically. From there I spared no stone unturned. It took literally hundreds of hours of replacing/cleaning up and refining this beautiful car. I have listed only part of the work done mechanically because these are the highlights I remember. What I can say is this car is the true definition of a driver. It will never win any awards at shows. It's not meant to. It is meant for a person who wants to open the door, put the key in the ignition, pump the pedal a few times, and then turn the key. It turns over so smoothly and then warms up to a beautiful idle. Then get it on the road and just cruise for as long as you like. No temperamental starting issues or restarting issues. No overheating or frustrations. With all these older cars I feel like people always have issues with one item or another. This vehicle really makes owning a classic car simple.
Items to be aware of:
The convertible top is in may need a little work mechanically on passenger side because it seems not to extend as far on that side. It does completely close and work properly, but it is not perfect.
It is missing the weather stripping between the front and back window and this creates a small gap when the top is up. There is a rip in the top as well, that I have covered, but again it is not perfect.
There are multiple imperfections in the paint and chrome. None of them are huge or noticeable from a distance but they are easily spotted. Hence me reiterating, this is a driver and not a show car.
I am selling for only one reason; I only drove the car 12 times this year. This is a crime in my opinion. This car deserves a home where someone will drive the car more and really use it. When I did drive it I was constantly stopped and asked about it. Always getting looks and attention in the vehicle. It is a wonderful car and I hope you appreciate it as much as I have. Please feel free to ask questions or inquire about coming to see it. Thank you for your interest.
