1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 Convertible - J2

Do to my heath I must stop work on this project. I am 80 year old and recovering from cancer. This car has been in dry storage for the past 20 some years. It is a rare convertible in as much as it is a straight & rust free car. The body is solid the floor boards are solid and the trunk is beautiful & solid. There is a brand new share tire in trunk.

There is a 371 engine & Jetaway hydro for this car and presently it is on the shop floor getting ready to go to machine shop for freshing up or a overhauling. It may not be the original engine & it may run fine the way it is but it’s an Olds 371. The condition is unknown. The engine turns over and is painted blue leading me to believe that it was overhauled and the shop painted it blue not original gold.

There is a J2 setup that goes with the car (see picture). The car has Power brake & power steering. Several of the parts this car needs are packed separately. At one time the right door was damaged so they put an 88 door & trim on it. I have purchased a Super 88 door and it is packed in a separate crate. I have been purchasing the missing parts & there is still a very few needed as I see it.

I have several new &/or NOS parts also that will be included. I have priced the car at a very reasonable price given the high numbers these cars bring when finished often over $100000.

Metal Rear quarter inside panel needed for passenger side that wrap around top cylinders. An Easy made item

Convert back seat- Most upholstery shop can build this seat out of foam or resizing a sedan seat.

1. Possibly a new Gas tank the one I have could probably be cleaned and repaired.

2. Nice steering wheel or repair the one on it.
