1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible 350 CI 4-Speed Manual Blue Very Nice
Offered for sale is my 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible. I purchased this car in July 1986 form Corvette City in Manchester NH. Since that initial purchase I have spent a lot of time and money to fix whatever I have found wrong or needing to be fixed on this car. This is a 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible. It was originally built with a 350 cubic inch engine and a 4-speed Muncie M20 transmission. Both the original numbers matching engine and transmission are still in the car. It is Trophy Blue(color code 51) with a blue interior and white convertible top covered by a white boot. It was originally a factory AC car but the AC does not work as the compressor is no longer in the car. It has it's original bucket seats and a Hurst Competition Plus 4-speed shifter on the floor.
It's a very solid car with no rust issues in the frame or floors. There had been some body work done to the lower rear quarters behind the rear wheels when I bought the car but when I painted it in 1990 it was decent so I went with it and it has been fine ever since. It runs great, t sounds great and is a great driver condition car. Since I bought it in 1986 has never been driven in rain, now or any inclement weather, n fact it has never been driven when the top would need to be put up. It's always been a pampered fair weather only car and if the weather was ever even questionable I would drive another vehicle.
Almost all of the work done to this car was done from 1986 through 1991 including new lacquer paint, ew interior as needed, ew front suspension as needed, ew clutch and rebuilt transmission, echromed front bumper, epainted blacked-out grills, he super stock II wheels were painted body color. I could go on and on about all the details that were fixed and all the parts that were replaced.
The car was driven very little and only on very nice days through 1997. Then it was parked and I had the idea that I would upgrade it, o possibly a big block so I started disassembling the drivetrain and was ready to pull the motor but never did(and now in retrospect I'm very glad I never modified it) and it sat in my garage on jack stands with the hood leaning against a wall in that state from 1997 until the spring of 2015 when I decided to put it back together in it's original condition. It was just registered this summer for the first time since 1997 and has been driven this summer to several car shows and whenever the weather is nice and is running great.
As stated most of the work done on this car was done in the late 1980's and early 1990's so it's not fresh. Just this summer to get the car roadworthy again I have replaced the battery, lternator, ll rear brake hardware as one of the rear wheel cylinders leaked out during storage and ruined everything inside the brake drum. I had to install new rear axle bearings and seals.
I was fortunate to find the car's original build sheet under the rear seat as shown in the last photo and I have almost all receipts from the day I purchased the car in 1986.
As stated most of the work was done about 25 years ago so it's not show quality anymore. The body has a few scratches, icks and battle scars it received even while stored from kids bikes, leds, otorcycles and ATV's which share the same garage. I continue to address any issues I find or notice and my "to-do" list is geting smaller all the time. Right now I do notice a squeaky upper control arm bushing and hope to restore the web of vacuum lines which control the heat and AC but since it's always been a fair weather car and always garaged these have never been needed. As with the purchase of any car I would suggest any potential buyer view, nspect and go for a ride in this car before purchase. Cash, ank check, r bank transfer accepted.
