Description

1972 Plymouth Satellite - Sebring PlusSURVIVOR - 114K - NO RESERVEThanks for checking out my 1972 Satellite Sebring Plus. These years for Plymouth were great. some of the best looking Mopars. 1972 was truly the last year the ended the muscle car era. I have never owned one of these cars. but always wanted the chance to get behind the wheel of one. it has been a delight to have had this one. This is the Sebring Plus model. which is very attractive with its 2 tone color scheme. which really added a new look to these cars. Plymouth also built the Road Runner and GTX out of the Satellite line as well. This car is what I would call a survivor. very original. about 90% of the paint is original including the vinyl top. If you are looking for a solid Mopar. and you don't have $30-60K in your budget. then you are looking at the right car. amazing floors. and body panels. they do not get any better then this. This car is an open canvas. drive it and enjoy as is. nbsp; restore it. or build your ultimate muscle car. A classic car like this can only be original once. it is amazing how it has stayed in this condition for all these years. Please take the time and read the auction. view the photos. ask questions. please. There has been some paint work on the car during its life on the road. the car is a true 114K original mile car. the paint work is minor. and to be excepted on a car that has been driven and enjoyed. The interior for its age is amazing. it will need some minor repairs. but it is in great shape. The engine runs great. this car is a G code 318. but has been upgraded with Edelbrock 4V aluminum intake. and Mopar Performance wrinkle finished air cleaner and valve covers. I even have the original dealer Plate frames from Roy Burnett Plymouth. Portland - Oregon. There is actually an old painted sign still on the side of a Portland Building today. that the city has left as a historic landmark. Here in the Northwest we are known. for cool summers. and mild winters. we do not salt the roads. which means you will save thousands of your hard earned dollars on a rust free Mopar like this. If you are from the east coast. or Europe you will be amazed at its structural integrity. I got this car from a hardcore Mopar nut. he was a friend of a friend. he loved this car. but has another project that he has started. so he parted ways with this little Sebring. It does have 114K on it pretty obvious after you are around it. This Sebring will be one that you can take to your local car show. or cruise-in and have the time of your life. It has regular road wear. has not been restored. but anyone that gets around it are always amazed at its current condition. This car came with some nice options such as AC. and AM/FM Radio. Sebring Plus Option. Chrome drivers mirror. Deluxe wood grain interior. The vintage Keystones have been on the car for a long time. and are in really nice condition. has a nice period look. Please read on. and see all the pictures. Thanks. Jason 503-910-2085The body on this car is in excellent shape. no rust bubbles. no rust repairs on the body. As you already know. Mopars were prone to rust. this car has escaped the elements. there are no rust issues on any of the exterior panels or underneath. When you see the pictures of underneath. and the rockers you will be amazed. The paint is original on the car. with the exception of a couple areas that have been repainted. The 2 areas. that I have noticed if the light hits it just right. 1st being the top of the passenger fender upfront. it has been repainted long ago. the paint has some checking on it on top of that fender. The second area is the drivers fender behind the wheel. on the green. if you look at it right. standing to the side and look close you fan see that it has been spotted in there. again an old repair. The rest of the paint on the car is original. it has typical small scratches. and chips on it. some touched up and some not. The original owner had side molding on it. but was removed a few years ago. so you can see a little paint discoloration from were it used to be. Perhaps polishing the car might help. The car does have a nice original gloss to it. and looks great outside. inside you can see a little more age. It is not often that you see any of these cars on the road. they are pretty rare site today. I get a lot of thumbs up and waves going down the road. Take a look at the pictures and you will get very good idea of what the paint looks like. There are a few minor dings. and small ripples here and there. nbsp; but for original it is very acceptable and amazing in my book. All the panels line up very nice. the doors shut like new. The vinyl top is original. and does show its age. There are no bubbles in the top. if you keep it protected from the elements. it will last a long time especially if you keep it protected indoors. There are some small cracks in it. discoloration and a few small divits in it. but overall it looks good. It has a sealant on it right now to keep it shiny and looking good. but for the most part it is protecting it from further discoloration and damage. One day you might replace it. but for now it is best to preserve it if possible. The trim on the car is all there. as you will see in photos. there are various dings in it. but all repairable when you get to that point. extremely hard to find this trim. so thank goodness it is all there. The bumpers look in nice shape for their age. if you were going to restore they would need rechromed. but for a driver they are perfect. If you want to restore the car it would be easy. but I personally would try to keep it in survivor state. All the glass is in good shape. windows roll up and down nicely. Windshield is new. so no chips or scratches. The interior is actually in really nice shape. NON smoker. everything is original. somethings need attention more then others. The seats are nice. padding is excellent. but basically the drivers side material is starting to wear. as you can see a small hole that started and some cracks in the material. There is a place called SMS here in Oregon that do make this material and have original material as well. If you can get away with putting inserts and fixing vinyl that would would best. Back seat is amazing in the car. The carpet is decent. and headliner is very nice. You will see one little spot next to the interior dome light not a hole. something next to light is pushing down a little. maybe the wire. Taking out the dome light and it could be relieved. The dash pad has a couple cracks in it. The door panels are in good shape some discoloration in the passenger side. The car is equipped with AC. it is all hooked up but needs to be recharged at the very least. might need seals. but the compressor is free. and belt is on it. It also has AM/FM radio. which you don't see that often in the early 70's most cars were just AM. The radio is currently not working. but is a pretty rare radio worth fixing. All the gauges are working gas gauge. speedometer etc. The horn is a ROAD RUNNER - BEEP BEEP. Overall a very usable interior. I would keep it as original as possible. The trunk area is in good shape. you will see some minor surface rust. There is one area were previous owner. sanded some of the surface rust away and treated it with a little primer. The trunk pan is amazing for a Mopar. Underneath the car is were it gets amazing. no rust. no repairs. truly the way you want to find any original Classic Car undercarriage. The engine is a 318 small block. car is a G code car. so 318 is the correct size for this car. It has been upgraded from a 2v to a 4V. with Edelbrock aluminum intake. and Finned Mopar performance air cleaner and valve covers. The engine compartment is very clean. and accident free. Mechanically it fires right up. the engine roars to life. no noises. not smoke. burns nice and clean. It runs down the road nicely. engine is just stock. besides the upgrades on it. very mellow. driver. It has been upgraded with a newer exhaust as well. which sounds good. The transmission shifts very nice. no play in ujoints. no noise. or rearend howl. The brakes work well. power disc brakes upfront and drums in the back. stops very straight and nice. The only thing I would look at down the road. is the front end is little loose. needs new bushings and various things. typical frontend rebuild. you can see a little wear on the inside of the drivers front tire. The car wonders a little bit. steering box is a little worn I think. These are all things that any vintage car needs addressed. remember this car has not been restored just driven and enjoyed. so it will need various things here and there. This is the type of car. that in its current condition. you could drive everyday to work. it is very dependable. starts up and drives right now. This is a NO RESERVE. starting bid at $19. 72. yes NO RESERVE. top bid gets it. View the pictures and read the auction. If you have more questions let me know. and I would be glad to help you out.
