You are bidding on a 1964 Sunbeam Alpine - Series III. I have owned the Alpine for about 1. 5 years. This Alpine is a solid driver and has been maintained. This is a very fun car to own. I am constantly stopped by car enthusiasts asking about the Alpine. Some features of the Alpine include:1. The Solex carburetor was replaced with a much better Weber carburetor. 2. New chrome wheels were installed about 6-8 months ago. 3. The car has an additional fan to keep the radiator cool (in front of radiator). Fan runs on automatic capillary system. 4. Tires have minimal wear. 5. New battery was installed about 1. 5 years ago. 6. New LED instrument bulbs were installed about 12 months ago (much better for night driving). 7. The voltage stabilizer was replaced within the last 12 months. 8. The transmission fluid was changed within the last 12 months. 9. The oil has been regularly changed. 10. The cooling system was flushed about 12 months ago. New thermostat was installed at that time. The Alpine is 50 years old and needs paint/cosmetic work. The interior is in good shape. The seats are good. The carpet is not new but looks like it was replaced within the last 510 years. Rust exists on this car (external rockers. etc. ). The car needs a new top (top works but has a few holes in it). There is a dent on front right side near the headlamp. Pitting exists on some of the chrome. The sending unit on the fuel tank works. but is inaccurate. The Alpine passed inspection in Texas and has a clean Texas title. I am not sure whether the mileage is 68. 63 or 168. 63. The person I bought it from represented the car as having 67. 00+ original miles. As with any classic car. the Alpine should be inspected and drivenThe Rootes Group/Sunbeam only built 5863 units of the Series III. The Series III is perhaps more rare than the other Alpines. Changes from the Series II included a trunk modification. the fuel tank was split into two tanks mounted in each rear wing. nbsp;and the windshield. Series III's can be identified by the B92 serial number prefix. as well as the tall fins and large open trunk. Series III's are also the only finned Alpines to have the triangular shaped windows on the leading edge of the doors. There are many unique features on the Series III that can only be found on this model. The bonnet badge. now a chrome boss with plastic insert is one such item. This same badge can also be found on other late model Rootes vehicles. including the '69 Alpine fastback. It is the Buyer’s duty to review and analyze the Vehicle. The Buyer should personally inspect and drive the Vehicle.
