NO RESERVE, IGH BIDDER GETS IT......1966 Trabant. East Germany's answer to the Volkswagen Beetle back in the day. These fine vehicles were abandoned all over Germany when the Berlin wall fell and this one worked it's way to Ft. Pierce, lorida. This car came from the estate of well known Trabant collector Karl Shultz. His cars took part in some of the rallies in Washington DC and have been stored since 1997. Engine turns over but I have not tried to start. Fuel tank will have to be cleaned out, attery needed etc.
As most Trabant collectors know the engine is a two cylinder, wo cycle, ir cooled example of automotive engineering. Horsepower unknown but I have heard estimates from 18 up to 28. Factory trailer hitch but I can't imagine what you would tow with it. The body is duraplast composite and will not rust. There is some minor rust in the front and can be seen in the pictures. There is rust in the front where the grille attaches at thebottom of the mount. The two small slots that the grille fits into are missing. The floor pans are excellent and the inside of the trunk looks good also except for a rust hole in the rear left corner that I included in the photos. Please email, ext, r call Steve at 772-201-1905 or Roy at 772-971-6365. I will close the auction out early if I get a good cash offer and I have one more car left from the collection that is available. All offers cheerfully considered not matter how ridiculous. I will assist with shipping arrangements if needed.
PLEASE NOTE. CLEAR FLORIDA TITLE.
