1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

Thanks for checking out "Otto", nbsp;my 1968 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia, his is a very nice little Ghia that you can drive and enjoy, 969 is the last year of the small light Ghias. When Ferdinand Porsche was approached to build the VW's, o one new the impact these Bugs, hia's and Transporters would have all over the world, hat a design, hat a car, the "Peoples Car". This little Ghia is in very good shape, he perfect driver for someone, o enjoy on a daily basis and show on the weekend. It runs like a dream, ust turn the key and he fires right up. I don't know what it is about it, ut every time I see Otto, just want to take him out for a stroll, ets just say he gets plenty of exercise! Overall Otto is a great car, ot perfect by any means, ut a great driver, hat you can enjoy every day, nd occasionally show. You have no idea how many looks he gets, very were I take him, omeone always wants to look at this little Ghia, t has lots of eye appeal Please check out all the photos, here are a lot of them, o take your time and study them. The body is in pretty nice shape, ery nice original floor pan, ery clean, o rust issues underneath, nderneath the rear seat looks very good as well, o rust issues. In its pass, ot sure when and how, t looks like it had some damage in the front, retty typical, hen you take the front spare tire out, ou can see some wrinkles in the inner aprons, t obviously was old, nd it happen, ut the nose itself looks to be pretty clean, ut you can see the repairs. From inside the wheel well on each side under car, hich I show pictures, hese areas don't look that bad. This happens often on these, ecause pretty much the bumpers don’t really protect that much. It was painted about 20 years ago, t has a good gloss, ut it is showing its age, ore of a average respray, ou can see imperfections, range peal on the paint, ut in the sun, t looks great, ut under lights, r heavy shade, ou can see more of the paint flaws in the car, t does have some filler in it, t you can see a few bondo cracks in the drivers door, nd a few other areas, ee pictures, I tried to take some close ups in shade you can see some a little waviness down the sides. This is not a 100 point restored car, ust a very nice driver. The car has some minor chips that have been touched up, Paint is very nice for a driver, ut you would take him to any show and have a great time, or now I would just drive it and enjoy, ne day you might want to give it a killer paint job, ut for now, t has a lot of charm, o I would just drive and enjoy it. The drive train is in great shape, t runs very good, tarts up every time, t really is a joy to drive.

The drive train in this car is awesom, tto runs like a little sewing machine. The 1600cc, uns very good, o major oil leaks, ery clean running, t starts right up, oes not burn any oil, as a very nice sound, ots of pep. The engine runs great, dles nicely, nd sounds great with the Monza exhaust. I believe it is the original engine to the car, ut not 100% for sure about that, riginal air cleaner, nd stuff on it still. The original 4spd transmission shifts very nice, lutch feels great, ll the gears feel very smooth, as an aftermarket Hurst quick shifter on it. This little guy is very fun to drive, e gets a lot of looks. The brakes work great, o pulling stops nice and straight. The emergency brake works as well. Chrome VW wheels, n very nice condition, ice VW caps. The tires are Radial Whitewalls with about 95% tread, hey look really good on this VW, specially with the White roof. The hubcaps are original as well, nd look nice. Mechanically Otto runs great, ou can drive him anywhere.

The interior is in very nice condition, eats look great, o rips or tears in them, nbsp;the seat springs feel good. You can see up on the driver’s seat, ere the head rest goes in, here a little tear around the post, ut there might be a plastic grommet that is supposed to be there that might be missing as well. The door panels are in great shape, sed a little, ut look good, mall little cut on driver’s side on edge. The pockets are in good shape as well, nd stay up. It is a NON Smoker, nd is very pleasant inside. The carpet looks very nice, ery little wear on the inside, arpet was replaced by previous owner with a factory carpet kit. Headliner, s in good shape, o cuts, r holes, ut it is older. All the gauges work, esides the clock. The dome light works, ut you can,t touch the switch on and off, t only works when doors are open and closed, hat I am saying just leave it alone, omething internal is not correct and needs fixed. Very clean dash area, he dash pad is older but overall it looks good. Factory radio is in it, ut not currently working, t has not been hooked up, can see cut wires on the back of it. All the interior lights work, ery clean inside, tays nice and dry as well. All the dash lights work. The horn works, ipers work as well. I love hoping in this car and taking it out on a spin, ust feels great sitting inside, nd cruising him. All the exterior lights are working as well, urn signals, rake lights etc. The side door windows, o have some light scratches on them, r wear from rolling up and down through the years. I double checked the bottom of the doors to make sure the drains were clear, o that way if you get caught in a typhoon you will be good. The rear quarter windows do pop out at the rear as well, hich is really handy. I did check the door locks, nd they do work with the set of keys I have has well.
