Description

This 1928 526 Five Passenger Sedan is remarkable in that it remained in the ownership of one North Carolina family from new until 2011. The original owner's son, 8 years old at the time, rote in 2011, Dad bought the new 1928 Packard from Mr. Tank Hunter in Carrboro, orth Carolina, ho was the area's Packard dealer. It has been in our family from then until the present and it was driven by Dad until 1948. He said that it would become mine when he died." In other words, his beautiful Five-Passenger Sedan has had just two caretakers since new, hen a collector, nd myself. We have a vintage photograph of the small boy standing next to his dad's car, hich is this Packard that his dad purchased new in 1928. The boy grew up and inherited the car, nd lovingly oversaw a painstaking restoration of his dad's Packard after his own retirement in the 90's. The vehicle was bone stock original when the restoration began and remains in outstanding authentic condition today. The vehicle is sold with both a copy of the original North Carolina title and the original license plate. The restoration included rebuilding the engine, eplacing structural wood, eplacing the wiring harness, epainting in original black, nd completely refurbishing the interior. The Packard is nicely equipped with electric start, peedometer, nd factory clock. The lovely grey cloth interior is both highly authentic and in near mint condition. The smooth power delivery of the refined Packard Six engine is amazing for an 84 year old car. Included are the original 1928 North Carolina license tag and registration, riginal owner's manual, riginal color sales brochure, any other notes/receipts from the restoration, nd reproduction service manual. A custom-made car cover is also included. An electric fuel pump was discretely added to improve starting. The stately 1928 Packard offered here represents a unique opportunity to own a remarkable correct car with continuous family ownership for an astounding 83 years.
