1953 Packard Clipper with 31,998 Original Miles!
I bought this car last year. I was told by the sons of the original owner that their father put the car in storagesometime during the late 1950's ~ under cover in a warehouse for the next 50 years. I can't prove this, ut it would explain the exceptional condition. The interior is really in terrific shape, s is theexterior body. Straight and true with no visible rust or trauma that I can see.A portionof the front bumper has pitting and some discoloration as does thetrim around the head lights. Theback bumper looks very presentable for it's age and thechrome trim on the body looks very nice and shiny.
The headlights work, ail lights work, rake lights work and both indicators work. The previous owner converted the car to a 12 volt system. Brakes seem to work very well every time I took it out for a drive. Automatic transmission shifts nicely, nd the engine runs really strong. At some point in time the previous owner had the car repainted to a dark gray. Nice color, ged, ut still very presentable. Horn does work, ut it needs a new relay ~ eBay sellers have them for around $10.00. Heater blower motor works, ut the element needs to be taken out and repaired. Exhaust pipe has a small exhaust leak in a centralized location and the wipers start to move, ut there appears to be a vacuum hose leak somewhere. The shocks are original to the car, ut I'd replace them. 3 of the 4 seem fine, ut one definitely needs to be replaced. These are allminor repairs, ut I don't have the time to address them. My Real Estate is taking up all of my available time, o sadly, nd with a heavy heart I've decided to sell my Packard. I don't spend anytime with it and want to see it go to a better owner who'll take it to car shows, tc. The car has been the victim of long term storage for most of it's life. And it would appear that under my ownership I've picked up the tradition of storing the car instead of driving and enjoying it ~ thatneeds tochange.
I've tried to describe the Packard to the best of my ability. If you have any questions or require more photos, hen please contact me through eBay or you can call me at 765-238-8070 eastern standard time.
The car comes with a clear Indiana state title. Payment should come in the form of Cash, ank Cashiers Check or Personal Check. Please allow the standard wait period of 7 to 10 business days for payment to clear.
