Description

1929 Packard Sedan Model 626
Because the winner bidder did not follow through on the purchase of this car on a earlier auction, I am having to list this car for sale again on eBay. Please, if you do not intend to complete the transaction, do not press "Buy it Now." By purchasing, you will be buying one great project car.

What a rare find, this approximately 95% complete, 1929 Packard Four Door Sedan, Model 626. Almost in the same condition as when it was pulled out of a barn 19 years ago. I am selling this car because I no longer have the time, nor the funds to finish this car correctly.
This car is in very solid condition. Approximately 75% of the parts that needed re-chroming, have been done several years ago, by Alberta Plating in Canada.
All of the other body parts are there, including a trunk, front end lower cowling and engine dust pans, all with surface rust. Even the aluminum rain channeling for the top is with it. The only rusted through areas are at the back / base of the front seat, and as few places in the flooring. The body panels, bottom of the doors and cowling are in excellent shape with only surface rust. The wood in the doors and door posts is solid, but will possibly need to re-glued. They still fit nicely with even gap spacing all the way around. The top bows are weathered, and should be used as patterns. Yes, it has some dings, bends and dents, but you will be hard pressed to locate another car, of this type, that has a body with this much good wood and sheet metal to work with. Original door hardboard panels are still there for pattern material, plus an additional 6 more aluminum hub caps. (all of the hub caps have some type of damage.) The front brakes were removed so the car would roll easily. All break parts are there. Has one complete set of head lights, and another partial set, with 6 original glass lenses. Re-chromed side parking lights with two more extra lenses. Even the original dome light, door handles, and window regulator handles are still there but have not been re-chromed.
The engine is original, with a notation written on the firewall that states “New Block Pistions Rings 56,000 Miles, 8-10-35” We have not attempted to start it, but the engine is free and does turn over by had with it’s original accessory hand crank. I can not verify how many miles are on this car originally, so please disregards the mileage listed in the heading. (eBay requires that some number be listed.) We have all the gauges, and a spare speedometer and clock for the dash. Both the front and rear Cigar / Cigarette lighters are there.
What this car is missing is it’s original top material, upholstery, seat springs, all the flat window glass, some floorboard wood material, one of the spare tire chrome mounting discs (there are two, but one is not correct for this year of the car), rear view mirror glass, blanket rail and brackets that would have been behind the front seat, wooden rear lighter / ash tray holder, and it’s original gas tank. ( A “new" tank was made for it many years ago, usable, but not the best if you intend to restore this car.) One of the bumper brackets, "bow ties" is not correct for this year of car, but has been re-chromed, and will work until an original is found. The hood ornament was re-chromed but the plating is beginning to blister and fail. And finally, the parking brake handle is stuck.
Take a look at the photos. If you don’t see something that you think should be there, call or email me and I will confirm if we have it or not. The car is located in Emmett, Idaho. If you can, I would encourage you, or have someone you trust, to inspect this car before you bid.
Clear title in hand. Please ask any questions you have. Call (208) 365-2862 and ask for Scott or leave a message and I will return your call.
Okay, so now for the detail stuff, I will attempt to keep this simple.

I can store the car for up to a month, at no additional charge. I would like it out of my garage within 30 days unless some other arrangements are made.
Payment Terms: The successful buyer will submit a $500.00 non-refundable deposit within 2 business days of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle. Buyer agrees to pay remaining balance within 10 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed before I release the vehicle unless other arrangements are made before the close of the auction.
