1947 Packard Custom Super Clipper offered with a reserve

This example is a good solid original car that has obviously been stored indoors its whole life, nd has had a lot of expensive mechanical work undertaken, t needs only a respray to be completely restored. The car has had its entire drivetrain rebuilt, new wiring harness installed, ll the suspension bits replaced, nd the lower part of the engine compartment has been repainted Maroon-which appears to be the original color of the car, o its ready for the repaint. The chrome has also been replated in places most notably the bumpers. the original splash pans are still in place. The upholstery is in exceptional condition. The dash top could use regrained, nd there are a few tiny moth holes in the headliner, ut otherwise the interior is quite nice. The paint is the weakest part of the car with several spots where it has been polished through and with crazing and chipping here and there. There are some shallow dents here and there and a sizable one on right rear fender.
This is actually the perfect CARavan car as it presents well enough from 10 feet but isn't so perfect you worry overly much about it when dining out or leaving it parked in public, nd it is an exceptional runner you can drive without concern.
The car runs and drives exceptionally well. I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country today. The car runs cool and quiet, he brakes work well, nd the Electromatic clutch and Overdrive work beautifully. It has newer tires and a fresh correct battery. All the guages function perfectly with the exception of the Radio and Clock.

The Packard Motor Car Company introduced the Packard Clipper model, s part of Packard's Nineteenth Series of automobiles. The car featured "fade away" styling, hich means that the front fenders melted into the front doors, nd was powered by the same engine used in the Packard 180 series. The Clipper was lower and wider than previous Packards, nd was the first streamlined Packard. One body series was offered (model 1951), four door sedan. The Packard Clipper was priced between the Packard 120 and the Packard 160. Packard advertising encouraged consumers to "Skipper the Clipper!"
For its Twentieth Series (1942), ave for its Packard Six and convertible models, ll Packards became "Clipperized" and adopted the styling cues introduced by the 1941 Clipper.
