Enough about the reason I'm selling and let's talk about the condition of the car. The car is from west Texas. What you are looking at in the pictures is mostly original paint. All of the beige color is the original paint. The yellow is what I painted in the jams and engine bay. It has one spot about the size of a football on the right rear quarter that has some thin filler and a spot paint. It has a decent shine on the paint. The deck lid was missing when I bought the car. The hood was flat so I sold it years ago. I now have a shaker hood on the car. I do not have any of the other shaker parts. The original right fender had a big crease down the center, o I removed it and bought another one for $35. Boy those days are long gone! All the rest of the panels are original to the car. It has no rust on any frame rails, ockers, loor pans, nner or outer wheel wells, ower trunk drops, nner fender wells, r the bottom of the doors like most of these cars have. The front windshield area has no rust. The rear window has a dime size spot of rust on the corner. The only real rust is in the trunk. The right side will need a patch about 2' X 2'. See the pictures. The right rear quarter has half dollar size spot right behind the wheel. Again, ee the pictures. The car had some aftermarket body side trim to cover up/prevent door dings down both sides. You can see where I repaired some of the holes on the left front fender. I decided to let the body shop do the rest of the car. The right front fender has original green paint and a small rust spot on the top where the under coating fell off. The right door has a small crease but believe it is an easy repair for a competent body shop. Overall, he car is about as straight and rust free as you can get for a 45 years old. Again, he car has the original beige paint so you can see what shape the body is in. There is nothing hidden here. I have not really discussed the motor or numbers on the car because I believe this will make a great clone car or better yet, retro rod. A late model Hemi would make this a cool car. But if you are interested in a restoration, hen here are the numbers. It is a Gran Coupe, 83 2 barrel, onsole automatic, ucket seats, /C, ower steering, nd big manual drum brakes. I do have the fender tag and broadcast sheet for the car. All the body numbers match the vin on the dash and the door sticker. When I bought the car, t was missing the front seats, onsole, loor shifter, otor, ransmission, rive shaft and deck lid. I have all the Gran Coupe emblems, arracuda emblems and wood grain trim for the door panels. The drivers panel is the only original panel I don't have, ut I saved the trim and emblem. All the panels are dry rotted and not useable, nyway. The overhead console and cardboard headliner are intact. The interior is coded on the sheet and tag as P 6 YX. Which I interpret as premium buckets and interior is gold and black. The seats, oor panels, eadliner, verhead console, un visors are gold. The dash, ick panels, seat belts and hardware, pillar rear window trim and upper side headliner trim, arpet and the console were all black. It was an odd combination. Most of the dash is undisturbed and intact. I removed the a/c heater box for paint. All the wiring is intact as are the special overhead console wires. All of the under dash a/c vents are intact. All the door/quarter window glass is good and all the hardware is intact. All suspension and rear end components are there. All the chrome trim is there with the car. The back glass is out but I have that to go with the car. I may can provide a console and shifter. I'm still looking for good one. The seats are from a 73 Barracuda and are repairable. All the seat belts are there. The rear valance is with the car but not installed. The grill is in excellent shape with no cracks. All the chrome is there as well as gran coupe grill and parking light assemblies. Bumpers are in good condition and not bent. They may need to be re-chromed.I do not have a motor or transmission to go with the car in this auction for the price. I might have one available at an extra cost. I have anything from a 340, 83, 40 or 426 Hemi. I do have auto transmissions as well for extra cost. I also do not have a radio, ront valance, rive shaft or outside mirrors. I do not have any of the under hood a/c stuff or condenser. The wheels and tires pictured do not go with the car. They don't hold air. I'll have to get some different wheels and tires. One odd thing about the car I need to mention, s the core support area. Since it is an a/c car, t has a 26” radiator. It is coded for that on the fender tag and broadcast sheet. The number on the core support matches the number on the cowl and dash tag. The car appears to have been originally built with a 22” core support. It was then removed and a 26” core support was welded in place. Not all of the 22” core support was removed. It was just cut off and the 26” core was welded on top of the part that attaches to the inner fender well. Upon further inspection all this work was covered up with factory undercoating. The left fender has never been off the car. I posted this info on the Moparts board and several of the old timers there worked on the assembly lines when these car were built. They said when mistakes were made like this one, t was pulled off the line to a special area and fixed the best and easiest way possible and put back on the line. So, his is a possibility with this car.The bottom line is that this car is about as rust free as you are going to find. If you have priced all the parts to fix a rust bucket before and had an estimate from a body shop, hen you know how much it cost to resurrect a rusty car from the dead. Years ago, ars like this one were bought for body parts to fix more valuable cars. Again, his would be perfect for a resto-mod. As a matter of fact, y wife says if it does not sell for enough money, he wants me to slip a late model Hemi in it for her! I won't let this one go too cheap but if it does not sell, 've got several other Barracudas that I will list on ebay to make up for my crappy paint job ordeal. I am sure they will sell for less. Call if you need to talk. You can also email me and I'll send you any additional pictures. Call first if you want the pictures emailed. At the completion of the auction, will require $1000 deposit via pay pal within 48 hrs and the rest can be wired to my account or delivered when you pick up the car. I would like to complete the transaction in a three week period. I can be flexible. Please note: for some reason I cannot delete that note under the subtitle section at the top. This car does not have a matching numbers motor and transmission with the car. All of the body numbers match the vin tag, ender tag and broadcast sheet.
Thanks
