Description

Thanks for viewing. Please allow all pics to load. I included over 90 pictures! Sorry if too many just trying to be thorough.INTRO Thank you for viewing my ad. I have owned this 1971 Plymouth Roadrunner for the last 13 years. I purchased it from a gentleman in California. It was built and located there until I acquired it. I have the ownership history and documentation going back four previous owners to 1993. A big thank you goes to all the former owners of this car for their dedicated record keeping and excellent maintenance. It has been driven and thoroughly enjoyed by all caretakers. DESCRIPTION

This Roadrunner is a California built numbers matching car that includes the build sheet and is rust free. It came equipped with a 383/727 4bl carb A/C column shift bench sheet inside hood release manual steering 4 wheel drum brakes half vinyl roof & rallye wheels. The remaining items are displayed in a picture of the fender tag codes break down.

This car is a great driver. It starts well and drives and stops straight. The body is also super straight and rust free; only a few dings here and there – no dents. The car doesn’t overheat or run hot. All gauges in the dash operate accurately as well as the vintage Sun tach & Sun oil pressure gauges installed under the dash. All seat belts are present and functioning. And the door buzzer still works! At 70mph it runs about 3000 RPM; 3:55 rear end gears. The car has been driven about 1000 miles/yr since I acquired in 2002 and the oil/filter has been changed every spring. It is stored in my insulated garage every winter. This Roadrunner is great fun to drive and you receive plenty of thumbs up & comments every time! Drive enjoy and restore as needed.

I added an Edelbrock Performer Series Intake along with an Edelbrock 800 Thunder Series Carb with electric choke a MSD 6AL Ignition system and vintage Sun gauges (Tach Oil). These changes were made a few years ago and all the original parts were in working condition and have been retained. I think the carb is a bit too big but it does perform well. Perhaps a 650-700cfm would help it have a more crisp response.

HISTORY The history of this car as I have been told is that it sustained front end damage from an accident in the late ‘70s or early ‘80s (see pic). The state of California issued a salvage title. The car then apparently sat for about 10 years or so until being acquired by the second owner. This person fixed the damaged body panels and repainted the car. The grille front valance header panel hood and driver’s fender were replaced. I have a binder of receipts and documentation of work/parts from 1993-present.

PRESENT CONDITION

A recent oil/filter change completed. Currently the car does not have its original vinyl top or rallye wheels. The paint is faded from the California sun and it has been touched up here and there. Many imperfections exist and a few bubbles are present in front of the rear wheel on the driver’s side. The engine was rebuilt in 1995 when it had about 68000 miles (99150 currently). It was bored .030 and a larger cam was installed. All receipts are in the binder. The rear end gears are a 3:55 ratio and this was installed in 1997. The exhaust has an H-Pipe and Flowmasters; 40 series I believe. No leaks are present. It has a nice lope with a perfect rumble. It sounds great! The A/C does have pressure in the system but doesn’t blow cold air and needs a recharge. I have had the system inspected but I never had it charged or modified. All parts to the system are present and installed on the vehicle.

The transmission was serviced a few years ago.

Brakes serviced 2006

I believe the windshield was replaced many years ago; however there is no paperwork on this. I assume this because the caulking seems a bit sloppy in places. It does not leak. The original dash pad is perfect and has no cracks. The front bench seat has a couple rips and the side hinge covers are cracked. This is not the original seat however. I replaced it due to bad springs and ripped drivers section. For the purists out there I still have the original bench seat in my garage if you want it. I also replaced the radiator (with same part number) because the original had too many broken fins and did not function correctly.

Driver's side mirror remote needs adjusting.

Emergency brake is not working. However I will try to have it fixed by the time this listing is over.
