Description

CHRYSLERS at CARLISLE PA Delivery is available !!. Up for grabs is a unique and low option when ordered B5 Blue 1969 PLYMOUTH GTX that has been in dry storage for over 25 years. This car just came out of a private owners collection after many years of persuasion to sell by all who have known about this diamond tucked away. It is now available to be bought finally. This car has been tucked away in a dry storage machine shed since 1990 and it has just 86,976 true original miles on it. This GTX has the 375 hp 440 engine with the bulletproof 727 Automatic behind it followed up by an 8 3/4 rear with 3.55 gears. The car has been sitting since the last time it was actually tagged and on the road in 1995 so it will be needing some mechanicals to be roadworthy again. We DO currently have it running and moving around the lot but the brakes do not work and the exhaust needs to be replaced. So it cannot currently be driven on the road. The only aftermarket modifications that i can see were done back in the day were a set of Moroso chrome valve covers, ooker headers and the Mopar Electronic Ignition kit. The rocker panels, ramerails, irewall, runk, loorpans and overall structure of the car is in very good shape with only minor work needed to be cosmetically decent. Im not saying they are all perfect but they are very good for a car of this caliber. The lower sections of both rear quarter panels were patched sometime in the 1980's and it was not the best job done. The history on it goes, The car was orginally parked and was to be stripped down to bare metal, ew lower quarter patches put in and painted but that never happened so it ended up getting put away like a time capsule. All door glass is in very good shape and so is the windshield. The side trim, oof mouldings, nd windshield trim were mostly removed to start the bodywork process and that is as far as it got. All original trim is there with the car along with the Original HP exhaust manifolds to the car that were put away years ago and luckily saved when the headers got installed and the matching spare wheel and tire is still in the trunk as well. I was surprised to see that the Original Carter 4 barrell carb and unsilenced air cleaner are still on the car as well as the woodgrain steering wheel. Rare items to find still on a car like this for sure. Heck, he interior light even still comes on when you open the door. Not sure if the car is numbers matching or not but what i can verify is that the trunk lip, ore support, ender tag and dash Vin plate all match to the Original and CLEAR Virginia state title. The pad in front of the intake on the 440 engine reads .. E 440 then a Maltese Cross... HP 2 .then a 3 .then a .6. The fender tag reads ... 1st line... 08101 113524 9A1158xx... 2nd line ... 917 593 093 ... 3rd line ... 6W B5 B5 P6D B7 4th line ... RS23 E86 D32 904 059724. The fender tag is really kind of rare in the fact that the GTX is supposedly a more heavily optioned out car and this one barely has any options other that the Power Steering and the original AM radio in it. This is a NON air grabber, O a/c, nd NO Power Brakes car and all original parts seem to be there to make this and easier restoration. Less time needed hunting down hard to find date coded parts. I am ecouraging all who are interested and wanting to bid, o come see and hear the car run for yourself in person. I am normally available after 6pm in the evenings. I am going to be at the Chryslers at Carlisle PA swap meet and show on Saturday July the 11th and i am willing to deliver it there for the winning bidder as long as the deposit is paid for in full first. This is a rare and truely unique car indeed and i am sure it will end up going to a great new owner who will appreciate what a tough 440 Mopar has to offer. We are going to start the bidding very low to be fair to all who have been after this car for so long. Thanks and good luck to all bidding. I DO NOT SHIP OUTSIDE OF THE United States, o NO international bidding.. Sorry!

Just want to start off by saying Thanks to all those who have emailed and showed interest in the Plymouth. Its been overwhelming to say the least. I would like to answer some of the more common questions that have been getting asked about it so far. Yes, he car does run and move under its own power and the transmission goes right into ALL gears with NO hesitation whatsoever. We literally just got it out of its dormant storage and fired up only a week ago and It is currently bottle fed with fresh gasoline from a seperate tank to ensure that no trash (if there is any) was pulled from the original fuel tank. Before the car was ever started the oiling system was primed first to ensure good oil pressure and checked by a mechanical gauge. I do have the keys for the ignition and the trunk lock. The exhaust is rotten and does need to be replaced which most are going to put the bigger 2 1/2 pipes on it anyhow. Some have asked what part number the Carter AVS Carburetor is and the only thing that i see is the numbers on the lower front left by the choke side that read... H8 4618S. The exhaust manifolds that are in the trunk have part numbers 2806900 and 2843992 on them. The Radiator is original 22" inch factory Mopar. It is a Front Drum and Rear Drum brake car which is another reason why i think that this car is very odd and unique because of the lack of many options like disc brakes on a suppposed HIGH class model compared to the base model Roadrunner. Im not sure but i think from the serial number that this is an earlier production car that was most likely assembled in 68 for the 69 model year. RARE??? most likely it is. The bumpers are in decent shape and are not dented or bent. I think that covered most of the common questions. I know that pictures seem to hide imperfections and issues not seen until the day of purchase so i encourage all ... PLEASE feel free to come check the car out in person ahead of time. That way you can get all the numbers off of it that you need to see. Touch it, eel it, ee it, ear it, nd come get a good view of what a time capsule 69 GTX looks like before you bid. If you don't, hen i can only assume that you are perfectly fine with purchasing the car sight unseen and in as is condition. I am in NO way saying the car is perfect or ready to drive tomorrow. It need some work like any hidden muscle car like this will. I dont want anyone to be disappointed in any way shape of form because they assumed it was ready to drive. One persons percecption of decent or good is always different from anothers so please come check it out. You may be very surprised for yourself. This car is 45 years old and it has basically been tucked away for 25 of them which explains the low mileage of 86,976. Its truely a great candidate for restoration due to how complete the car is and it wouldnt take much at all to make it a very good daily hot rod if you aren't going for a full restoration right off the bat. You can save yourself thousands by just doing the few mechanicals yourself and driving it like a muscle car was meant to be driven. And last but not least, YES .. there is a number in mind and that number is 11.
