1963 Plymouth Valiant Signet 200Convertible
We are thethirdowner of this car andpurchasedit in South Haven Michigan in July of 2002. I have several receipts from the previousowner of work he had done. Since we owned the car we have replaced the starter, rakes, istributor andcarburetor. The car was paintedbefore we bought it and I had the tops of the doors inside and out painted to make it look fresh. We used the car for fun drives like car showsand out for ice cream. It only saw the rain once in all the years we owned it, adjudgementcall on my part, r maybe I just believed the weather guy,go figure. I also don't really like driving the car with the top up, hat only happened once on a trip from the Morris Car Show it was late October andit was really cold. It's a great little car and gets a lot of thumbs up I think because it's Red and people just don't know what kind of car it is. It has pushbutton shifter on the left side of the dash and has a lever to shift to park.Things it needs: door belt moldings, urn signal switch, have one but never put it in. Not sure why, hey work just won'tcancel when you turn to the rightso I just pull it down to shut it off. One of the convertible arms needs to be welded but you would need to remove the top and the top is good except for thefront bead, omeone used yellow weather strip glue to hold it down, ot sure why anyone would use yellow on a white top but since I never drive with the top updoesn't really bother me. I did paint it with some white vinyl paint and it's not that noticeable. Another problem is sometimes the speedo sticks and doesn't work.I replaced the cable once and that helped but not all the time. In 1963 theValiant had a few different options for the roof, ower or manual. This car has a switchon the dash but it's manual. Also the radio never worked and I refused to install a aftermarket one so I found a used that I bought from ebay. Yeah, hat one didn'twork either. So I settled for my Iphone during the drive. Someone cut a hole for speakers in the door panels, ound so they could be covered if you put speakers in, ouknow the kind I mean. This car is awesome to drive and I am confident driving this car any distance. The previous owner had new exhaust made as you can see from therear pictures and has two pipes out the back. It's sounds really good for a six cylinder, ot noisy but very nice tone.Anyquestionsjust send me a message or give me a call 708-372-7253
