1977 Trans Am project car. Great restoration project. To my knowledge this is a factory 4 speed model and was not converted from an automatic. VIN confirms it is a true Trans Am Pontiac400 C.I. car.
I rarely find a true 4 speed Trans Am when I buy project Trans Am's. This T/A can become a super Trans Am again. Would also make a nice Bandit clone.
Great restoration project.I purchased this T/A from a friendwho owned it for around 10 years.
Cars and Concepts T Tops are in great shape.Driver's side handle is broken but usable, parts are available online. These are aftermarket tops.
No engine, o transmission.
4 Speed clutch pedal and Z bar clutch linkage intact. The drivelineis stored in the interior.
Miles on car are unknown.Clean released title from last registered owner.
GreatTrans Amto restore!! I am open about the condition of the car. Please note the following:
T/A does not have original positrac rear-end. The rear-end was replaced with a non-posi sometime inits past.
Will need rear passenger floor pan and passenger side toe board and maybe more in that area. Driver's floor pan is reparable without replacing it.
Drive Shaft tunnel has 1 sheet metal crack. Can be welded or patched.
Trunk pan is solid.
Driver's fender is rusted-out underneath behind fender well but is reparable - I will include a patch cut from another OEM T/A fender; driver's inner fender rusted out from battery acid. A replacement left inner fender wellis included.
Radiator core support rusted out on driver's side from battery acid...about every project Trans Am or part-out Trans Am I pick-up is that way.Find a core support from a Chevy powered Firebird that is rusted on the right side where the battery was and use the parts to repair this core support.
Passenger fender has small dents behind fender well.
Quarter panels are solid.
Car has a few spots of old bondo cracking and coming loose in various places. Biggest area is behind driver's door. See photos.
Front panel is torn on passenger side but reparable.
Rear deck spoiler end pieces will need replaced.
Sub-frame has been replaced with a nice sub-frame from another Trans Am prior to my ownership.
Windshield is cracked.
Radiator stored in the car's interior.
Interior is somewhat bare. Has what looks like Camaro seats in front, ne of these is loose.
1977T/A's and especially 4 speed T/A's are getting harder to find.
Car is a project vehicle and buyer is purchasing as such. Sold as-is with no warranty express or implied including no warranty for merchantabilityor fitness of use.
This is a great T/A and deserves to be restored.
